Madre Labs Body & Hair Care Review

A while back I had the opportunity to try out several products from the Madre Labs personal care line. The Madre Labs line is made with no “No-No’s” sulfates, parabens, dyes, animal testing or animal ingredients. The packaging is eco-friendly, too. As you all know, I prefer sulfate free products, so I was excited to try this line. I was sent the Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner, the Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, the Moisturizing Body wash, Leave-in Conditioner, Hand and Body Lotion, and Unscented hand cream. I’ll be reviewing the shampoos, conditioners and body wash today.

The “No No-no’s” seal is visible on all of their packaging, letting you know that these products are good for the love of your hair and skin, with no sulfates, no parabens, no dyes, no animal testing and no animal ingredients. These products are available exclusively at iHerb.

Balancing Shampoo & Conditioner – For normal hair, Pomegranate and Mellow Mint scent, with açaí, goji, pomegranate and seabuckthorn to protect hair and scalp from oxidative and environmental damage. Aloe vera and amino acids have been added to nourish the hair. For the conditioner, it also has coconut oil.

Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner – For dry/damaged hair, Strawberry Oasis scent, with açaí, goji, pomegranate and seabuckthornn to protect hair and scalp from oxidative and environmental damage. Aloe vera, amino acids and panthenol have been added to nourish and moisturize the hair. Additional oils have been added to the conditioner to moisturize dry or damaged hair.

In addition, aloe vera, panthenol, amino acids and a special blend of select oils, have been added to help nourish and detangle dry, overprocessed hair for easier styling.

Do they live up to their claims?
Yes! I really love this line. First, let me rave about the body wash. It’s rosemary mint. Sometimes mint can be too ‘tingly’ on my skin, but this has just the right amount of tingle going on and the scent is pleasant. It’s moisturizing, it doesn’t dry my skin out, and the scent fades, so it doesn’t compete with my other body products. I also adore the leave-in conditioner. When my hair is in good shape, I often just use leave-in conditioner spritzed on a comb to condition my hair. This is the first new leave-in conditioner that I’ve liked in a very long time. The citrusy scent is divine. The moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are awesome. The strawberry oasis scent reminds me of strawberry candy, and I absolutely love the way it makes my hair feel healthy and soft without being weighed down. The Balancing shampoo and conditioner are very nice as well. Their pomegranate and mellow mint scent is quite invigorating. After using these products for over six weeks, I’m happy with how my hair feels.

Would I purchase?
