I wanted to try and put together an autumn leaves inspired look for fun today. I find orange hard to wear, extremely hard, but I don’t think this looks terrible. I started with TFSI. Then I grabbed BH Cosmetics Warm Matte 3 (matte orange) and applied it widely in my crease and then along my lower lash line. I next applied Sugarpill Love+ to the outer lower crease and outer lower lash line. I applied MUFE Flash color in gold to my lid (this is a cream) and then decided it needed Sugarpill Goldilux on top of it. For the inner v, I applied Fyrinnae Polar Bear. I used MAC Fairylite on the browbone. I meant to use MUFE Aqua Eyes Liquid Liner in Diamond Burgundy but instead grabbed UD’s 24/7 Liquid Liner in Perversion.
You can see in the above picture, my coloring just looks off. It didn’t help that I chose MAC Rebel for my lip color. I should have gone with a gold or red.
However, in the picture below, I just removed my eye makeup and I kept everything else the same. I look much better without the orange!
BH WM3 matte orange – widely in crease and lower lash line
Sugarpill Love+ – outer lower crease and outer lower lash line
MUFE Flash Color in Gold – lid
Sugarpill Goldiluxe – lid
Fyrinnae Polar Bear – inner v
MAC Fairylite – browbone
Urban Decay 24/7 liquid liner in Perversion – upper lash line
NARS Via Veneto – lower water line
MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara
MAC Blackberry – to define brows
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light
Nyx lip pencil in Purple Rain
MAC lipstick in Rebel
MAC lip gelee in Resort Life – center of lips

Such a beautiful color combo! I have a hard time with oranges, too. Even though I have red hair, I think I tend to look better in cooler colors (which orange obviously is not)
I have a similar issue but then again, I have a lot of warm undertones so I think cool colors compliment them. What I tend to do is use a brown or darker neutral with the orangey colors to offset the brightness.
I’m neutral, but I feel like I lean warm, so I have to be careful with warm colors, especially orange/brown/yellow.
When my hair is red, I tend to reach for greens, purples, blacks, peach and gold.
Glad you like this one Cassy
Orange is really hard to pull off for a lot of people I think, but I actually really love that look. When I wear orange I do orange everything or coral cheeks and lips.
Aww thank you Yeah coral is GREAT with orange!
First thought was ‘Wow!’. This is gorgeous, doll! That gold is unreal, might need to get it.
Oh man, you’d love Goldilux!
Wow, every color here is so bright with your skin! I always wondered why some shades just don’t look the same on me and now I see that it is my medium beigey skin. I use Polar Bear as a highlight; it would look REALLY bright on you if you did that! Sometimes it just takes one comparison to make it make sense…
Aw glad it helps I think I can wear Polar Bear in the upper crease, and it worked really well on the inner v. Not sure how it would work as a browbone highlight shade on me.
I like the look of the orange shadows. I followed a tutorial on Arabic eyes. I did it and wore an antique gold, Indian style dress. It was awesome yet, not a look I normally would do.
Oh I bet that looks gorgeous! and yeah, I did this to push myself outside of my comfort zone a bit
I can’t believe you find orange hard to wear. I think you look great in it! I really like this look! Such a great fall look!
Thanks Peach! For some reason I really want to see the leaves change this year, and this was the closest I could manage today
Absolutely stunning. Love the placement, love the richness, love everything about this look. <3
Thank you so much G
The colors are different for you, but they are still pretty together. I’m getting Goldilux finally and I can not wait!
Yay! I can’t wait to see what you do with it Wendi
It’s so pretty! I think i may do something inspired by this.
I’m glad you like it, Rosa!
I think orange is one that’s hard for a lot of people, although honestly, I think it was the Love+ that threw your coloring off more than the orange. I think that orange looks gorgeous on you!
I always struggled with oranges until I discovered that if I wear warmer oranges that tend to be a bit on the coppery side of things, I look much, much better than if I wear a cooler, brighter orange. However, I wore a coppery orange last Tuesday and thought it looked great, but a coworker kept checking with me over and over to make sure I wasn’t upset about something – she said I looked like I’d been crying (I hadn’t!), so I guess I didn’t pull it off as well as I thought I had. It is fun to do oranges on occasion, though, especially in the fall!
Aww, I always love wearing reds. I find copper / orange / yellow / brown to be the most difficult shades to wear, as they would often go muddy on me.
I agree though, oranges are fun in the fall
Wow, I love the orange around your eyes!!
Aw thank you Sakura!
what a pretty color combo. i think you look great with orange.
Oooh sooo pretty. Looks great with your eye colour.
Thank you Ruth!
AMAAAAAAZING, seriously one of my favourite looks from you. I don’t think orange looks bad on you at all! Poor orange doesn’t get a lot of love from beauty bloggers
Aww thank you Silhouette
What a gorgeous color combo. I find oranges hard to wear too, but you look great in them!
I’ve been a lurker on here for a bit, but I just had to come on here and tell you how stunning that look is – I’ll have to give it a try myself!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it
I think it looked VERY pretty (even if this Floridian doesn’t know what autumn leaves look like LOL). But you have to be happy with the look. Still, very well done and very glam!
I love seeing the leaves turn, I just hate the inevitable cold that happens afterwards!
Oh that is just beautiful! I love those autumn colours
This is stunning and the PERFECT representation of autumn leaves! I think this is absolutely gorgeouuuus.
Thank you so much Mandy! You’re so kind!
We have almost identical eye color and I LOVE the gorgeous way you apply your make up. I love the imagination and every single look is superb. I wish you could teach me how to apply my make up the way you apply yours. Do you ever do tutorials? I’d love that. By the way, do you live in the New York City area?

I do have some tutorials under the tag ‘step-by-step’ and I have some youtube tutorials. I really need to make some new ones!
Awesome! i love the bright orange and gold together.
