Beauty Blog Advent Calendar – Femme Fatale Cosmetics

Today’s advent is of Femme Fatale Cosmetics. These swatches are late in coming but you won’t be disappointed. The colors are gorgeous. Many are duochromes. I love the colors that I’ve tried.

The Website Claims:
Femme Fatale Cosmetics is a mineral makeup company handblended in Australia! They’re the very first Australian company that I’ve been able to try.

Ingredients:
The ingredients are clearly listed on each individual color page. The colors also state if the product is eye safe or lip safe, as well as if it is vegan or not.

Example of one of the eye shadow’s list of ingredients:
INGREDIENTS: Iron Oxide (77499), Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Tin Oxide (778161), Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Carnauba Wax.

Price:
$5 full size 5 gram jar (eye shadow)
$8 full size 10 gram jar (blush)
$1 sample
$10.50 – shipping to the USA.

Website Layout
The site is super easy to navigate and purchasing is easy since you checkout with PayPal. The Turn Around Time is clearly noted on the site. It’s easy to find the company’s blog, facebook and twitter. I really adore the header art. Cute girl with purple hair? Yes, I’m a fan.

The samples come in sample baggies which are clearly labeled and easy to open. The full sizes come in nice jars with branded tops that have the FFC initials and a little skull design.

Eye Shadows
Flare – an intense coral-red based shadow with a hint of persimmon orange (Not vegan. Eye & Lip safe.)
Haunt – a bright mid-tone purple highlighted with a soft red shimmer (Not vegan. Eye safe only.)
Shooting Stars – a soft wisteria violet tinged with pink and highlighted by a heavy blue (Not vegan. Eye safe only.)
Poison – a vibrant chartreuse green with golden shimmer (Vegan. Eye safe only.)
Smokebomb – a deep black based grey with color shifting shimmer. Shimmer alternates between red-gold and bronze as well as an unexpected gold green depending on the angle of light. (Vegan. Eye & Lip safe.)
Unholy – An intense black based shadow with a colour shifting shimmer. Depending on the angle of light, the shimmer alternates between a deep emerald green, a lighter golden green and a muted reddish pink. (Vegan. Eye & Lip safe.)
Heroic – a soft copper tinged peach with gold shimmer (Not vegan. Eye & Lip safe.)

Blushes
Exotic – a hot pink blush with subtle blue reflects and sparkles (Not vegan. Eye & Lip safe.)
Tranquil – an extremely soft rose tinted with coral and a hint of copper sparkles (Not vegan. Eye & Lip safe.)

Femme Fatale Shooting Stars upper crease, Sugarpill Poison Plum crease, Urban Decay Junkshow lid, MAC Fairylite browbone

Femme Fatale Shooting Stars on middle of lid and crease, Haunt on outer lid, MAC Hoppin’ to blend out edge of upper crease, MAC Cloudburst to deepen outer crease and MAC Fairylite at inner lid and to highlight. This picture does NOT do Shooting Stars justice, as I don’t think it worked well on the Nyx HD base. It was fine with TFSI.

My favorite shades, hands down, are Shooting Stars and Haunt. They’re just amazing. Heroic and Flare and Poison are gorgeous as well. I need to try Smokebomb and Unholy with Pixie Epoxy or something to see if I can make their color changing nature come out and play. The blushes are nice.

I’m also interested in trying Polymorph, Riptide, Moonglow, Levitate, and of course Elitist.

Would I purchase?
Yes! I already have! I’ve got a few of the winter collection coming to me and I’m really looking forward to playing with them. I ordered Stolen Treats (a gorgeous looking deep midnight purple with golden glitter) and Reindeer Dust (a soft blend of coral and gold highlighted by a subtle gold/green color shift and blue sparkles) to try.

I’ve been pleased with the colors that I’ve tried so far, as the pigmentation and formula has been good, as has the wear.

Have you tried Femme Fatale Cosmetics?

I love the FFC samples I have, too! Exotic blush is so fantastic, but it looks awful on me because the blue sheen does not mix well with bumpy bad skin … I’ve been watching since Sophie first started mixing colors and posting swatches on her blog and I was immediately hooked, even her first efforts were so stunning!

I also applaud her decision to make worldwide shipping *free* on sample-only orders. That was the catalyst to my order, and I know many others will purchase for the same reason. Very smart business move :)

Flare, Haunt, Shooting Stars, Smoke Bomb and Unholy must be mine! I love that purple and pink look you did, and Flare kind of reminds me of MAC Fusion Pink lipstick :)
