I really love the tarte Lipsurgence lip tints. Normally I don’t go for natural looking lippies, but these have somehow won me over. I’m not sure exactly how, as I don’t tend to like lip stains. I have an awful habit of biting my lips, so I often avoid lip stains. However, these don’t emphasize my lips (bitten or not) in a negative fashion. The colors stick around, likely because I’ve got mostly the matte shades.
Fiery – red
Envy – mauve berry
Exposed – nude
Lucky – light pink
Sweet – golden pink (this one is a luster formula)
The Website Claims:
Each of the matte shades boasts the high-pigment concentration we love from matte lipsticks, but unlike drying lipsticks, these stains are infused with a High-Performance Natural™ LipSurgence™ technology, which is clinically proven to increase moisture content by an astonishing 6000% after 28 days. Earth engineered from a proprietary blend of plant bio-nutrients, the LipSurgence™ technology quickly absorbs into the skin to deliver a surge of moisture on a cellular level, while boosting peptides stimulate skin’s own regenerative system and assist in the formation of collagen. This proprietary blend effectively increases skin’s water content for a ‘plumped up’ appearance. The result is naturally fuller, healthier lips without any irritation or stinging.

Does it live up to its claims?
Well, I do think that the lip tints are nicely pigmented. They manage to meld with my lips in such a way that they look like sort of like my own lips, only better. These are definitely a my lips but better product to me. They aren’t drying, the way many lip stains are. They also don’t emphasize my lines or if my lips are chapped. I’d say that they do somehow feel comfortable on the lips.
Would I purchase again?
Yes! I have several and I really do love them. Two were given to me as gifts, and I’ve purchased several too. I’ll probably continue to collect the matte formula, as its my favorite. I was actually given Lively, a hot pink, as a Christmas gift. I do like these for layering, as well. They look great with complex glosses layered on top.
Do you like the tarte lipsurgence lip tints? If so, what are your favorite shades?
Some products purchased by me. Others were gifts. All opinions are my own.

Hello Cotton
Pretty! I picked up the Christmas/Holiday set of 5 – 3 lustres and 2 tints. Dazzeled, Flashy, Glitzy; Perky and Swank. I love them all! They feel really sturdy and I love the twist-up bottoms. Most of the entire collection seems super work-appropriate for me (I work in a middle school), and application is a breeze.
Envy looks awesome!

Envy is awesome! I had no idea it would look so good on me!
I bought Lively and Joy back when Tarte was actually calling these stains and not just tints (are they calling them stains again? Sephora’s site seems to). I like Lively a lot and it does give my lips a bit of stain, but I find it rather drying on its own. Joy is a peachy color and looks nice enough, but lasts about an hour and leaves no stain to speak of. For the price, I honestly don’t plan to get more of them.

Aww, I was honestly surprised that they weren’t drying on me.
can’t wait to see some swatches on lips!
I’ve done a lot of looks with them recently
I love these – mostly the mattes (which stay in place the best), but the Lip Service kit that came out this past holiday season has three pretty good non-matte shades in it that do have a good color payoff, and do tend to stick around. (Maybe tarte improved the formula?)
The price is a bit high – another reason I was interested in the Lip Service kit, 5 colors for the regular retail price of one.

Yeah the mattes are made of win.
I have Lust Lipsurgence, and I like it, but I like BE’s Busted Lip Tarnish a bit better.

It’s a pencil. I think they’re pretty new.

Thank you!
I’ve been teetering on whether to try these for a bit now, since I find lipstick pencils to be a bit of a pain – but after hearing another habitual lip-licker/biter like myself have good reviews on them, I’ll think I might have to give ‘em a shot since maybe I won’t have to sharpen them as much
I haven’t sharpened mine yet
I got a sample of Moody. VERY pigmented, and not drying like most lip tints. I’m sold on them!
