Kat Von D High Voltage Lacquer – Mad Max & No Regrets

I recently picked up the Kat Von D High Voltage Lacquer in Mad Max and No Regrets. I was attracted to the vibrant colors and what I was hoping would be a glass-flecked finish.

Mad Max – glittering bright sapphire
No Regrets – glittering hot pink

The Website Claims:
These vibrant, vivacious nail lacquers were inspired by the neon trends of the ’80s. The high-quality, richly pigmented formulas will catch all eyes in the room with their bright, ultra-reflective shine. Infused with tiny particles of shattered glass, these are the boldest and shiniest polishes you’ll find. The extended wear, anti-chip formula is water and detergent resistant and provides UV protection to ensure the color’s fidelity. These lacquers are formulated without toluene, formaldehyde, and DBP.

Colors:

No Regrets – glittering hot pink
Wonderchild – glittering bright amethyst
Sparklehorse – glittering bright yellow

Mad Max is a vibrant blue and I do see some purple around the edges. I really adore how No Regrets look. I love hot pinks!

Does it live up to its claims?
I tihnk the colors are lovely. They really do remind me of the 80s. I love 3 of the 4 shades, though I only purchased 2. The yellow isn’t exactly me. I can’t speak to the anti-chip or the wear, because I’ve only had time to swatch the polishes. Hopefully I’ll have time to do my nails soon!

Would I purchase again?
Maybe. I’m thining about the purple. My complaint is that it seems like it’s an awful small amount of nail polish for the price. However, the colors are pretty, and I really do like the finish.

What do you think of the colors? Are you a fan of the 80s color palette?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

Oooh, cute! And very 80s. I’d wear the pink with the blue as a ring finger accent.

I just got mine today and swatched them–I really do love Wonderchild (the yellow so not me either) but also like No Regrets (I am into a serious hot pink phase) and Mad Max (more turquoise than it looks in the bottle). I am disappointed that they aren’t larger but I’m planning on getting a second bottle of Regrets/Max (I got 2 of Wonderchild).

Yeah the size/price is kind of blah, but love the colors.

I would wear everyone of those except yellow, yellow makes me look ill.

Yellow can be hard to pull off.

I like the swatch I saw of Sparklehorse over at Scrangie. And both colors you swatch here are nice. I probably won’t buy them though because they will need three coats and come in such small bottles. They are very pretty though and I like the packaging. Thanks for swatching!

I think the colors are so nice, but $12 for .25 oz is just too expensive for me
