L’Oreal Infallible Shadows

I have several of the L’Oreal Infallible Shadows to show you today! I don’t think I did a full review on these, though I know I mentioned them before. I loved the shades and textures.

Price:
Price varies, but I picked mine up for like $5.99 at Target. you can get them for $7.92 at Drugstore.com

Shades Purchased:
Endless Pearl – matte beige cream
Eternal Sunshine – gorgeous light gold
Bronzed Taupe – brown and gold taupe
Perpetual Purple – pretty purple
Midnight Blue – the name says it all
Eternal Black – matte black with silver sparkle

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes. I think these are an awesome drugstore product for the price! The shadows last at least 16 hours (I wasn’t willing to sleep in them to test the claims) on my eyes. The colors are awesome and all of them are pigmented. The mattes are actually mattes, the metallics are metallics, and the sparkly shades are fabulous.

Eternal Black (just love that name), Midnight Blue and Perpetual Purple all are easy to use for a smoked out eye look. Bronzed Taupe and Eternal sunshine are really nice metallics. I’ve really got a thing for taupes these days, thanks to PinkSith and JoeyBunny. I like Endless Pearl as a highlight or all over shade. The texture on these shadows is really nice. I’ve never tried anything quite like them. They feel different from any cream I’ve used.

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I started out with just Endless Pearl, Bronzed Taupe and Perpetual Purple, and later I picked up Midnight Blues, Eternal Sunshine and Eternal Black. I’m really tempted to go back for another matte, Continuous Cocoa.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows? What do you think of them? Do you like cream to powder shadows?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

You know, every time a product like this comes out (like the MUFE aqua creams, the Bare Escentuals Prime Time primer shadows, anything), I always wait on your review because if it works for you, I KNOW it’ll work for me. What primers did you try out underneath them? Or did you find that they don’t need a primer?

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:06 pm #

I had to use a primer. I always use a primer or I will have some creasing/migration.

Isn’t it weird that I’d rather get another ETK (which I just did a few seconds ago) instead of buying the hyped Loréal ones? I somehow don’t trust them and I’m still not sure whether I like the ETK texture at all, but the colours look really good, maybe I’ll snag a few of them when they’re on sale.

That’s interesting because Loreal owns Armani. It seems like a lot of Loreal products are less expensive versions of Armani products. But, of course, Armani has the more complex, interesting colors.

      What is ETK?

I have two of these, Eternal Black and Midnight Blue. I find that the black has a lot of fallout, making it a bit difficult to use, but it’s really lovely when I do make the effort. The blue is just gorgeous – I love it. I’ve mostly been using it as a liner, and I have only good things to say about it!

I like these as bases to make colors pop, mostly like what I did with the Perpetual Purple, putting Cuddlefish on top :)

I own a pile of these shadows and I love them. They are so creamy and pigmented and easy to use and they last all day without fading or creasing. I apply them over eye primer to really lock them down and get the most out of the pigment. I appreciate that there are mattes and shimmers, as I like to mix those finishes in my eye looks. Endless Pearl, Continuous Cocoa and Sultry Smoke (a gorgeous slightly leaning purple smoke grey) are all matte. Continuous Cocoa is gorgeous and deep but you need to work with it a bit to get it to blend smoothly. It’s worth the effort, tho. :D

I was wondering if it would work as a liner.

I love the one of these shadows that I have! And want to get more. The purple one is calling my name!

      It’s great for layering!

I saw these at Target a week or so ago but the colors that I liked had been broken open and sampled :(

The one thing I love about drugstore.com is they often are running promos. I’ve heard great things about these so far, from trusted beauty bloggers. These are all amazing and versatile shades! Loving that blue. I love rockstar smokey ayes on me, I wear glasses so it’s about the only way to make an impact, haha

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:09 pm #

I know what you mean! If I wear glasses, I tend to put a darker shade on my lid and crease to make my eyes stand out behind the lenses.

Hi Phyrra! What kind of brush do you use with these?

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:09 pm #

I either use my finger or a flat concealer type brush

Thanks for the swatches! I picked up Eternal Black, Midnight Blue and this grey/silver one whose name escapes me. I think it was Infinite Sky. It’s lovely because depending on what you pair it with I think it could go more blue or more silver. I bet it would look lovely on you. I might need to grab Endless Pearl. I wish it were a little shimmery, but then again just thinking about a matte in this texture of shadow makes me giddy :P .

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:09 pm #

I’ll keep an eye out for the grey :)

Oh my god! people you guys realize that LOREAL test on animals!, right?? Unfortunately when i discover it, I stopped buying immediately. I know! i know! this eyeshadows are soo pretty =/ i almost can’t handle it >.<, but are loads off dupes around. SO people please spread this news!
    See ya around =^.^=

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:10 pm #

I’m hoping that we’ll see a vegan, indie version of these shadows because of how much attention they’re getting.

  11. NeenaJ February 14, 2012 at 5:25 pm #

These are fabulous. I ended up buying all of the shades except Endless Pearl (which I have many dupes for) and the green one which clashes with my hazel eyes.

You’ve got to try the matte gray one. It’s brilliant.

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:10 pm #

I’ll keep an eye out for it! Thanks for the rec!

I was saddened by the purple. It creased like whoa on me :(

    • Phyrra February 15, 2012 at 1:11 pm #

I use it with primer and thankfully haven’t had an issue :( Sorry it creased for you!

I need to check out Bronzed taupe. It’s just my kind of color!
