Moi Minerals – An Introduction

As I mentioned a while ago, I’m sadly behind on my blogging. Quite a while ago I had the opportunity to try out Moi Mineral Cosmetics. It has taken me forever to finally get to try out Moi.

Row 1 = Jealous – Fortune Cookie – Copper Heart – Free Falling
Row 2 = Coral Reef – Troll Lover – Field of Gold – Cheer
Row 3 = Cherry Peep – 8465 – Suga Mama – Man Eater
Row 4 = Eggplant – Jaded – 8462 – Mercy

Ingredients:
Ingredients are listed individually for each shade, but here are a few samples.
Cheer – Mica, Titanium Dioxide,ZInc Oxide, Iron Oxide,Tin Oxide,Dimethicone,Ferric Ferrocyanide,Ultramarines
Coral Reef - Mica, Titanium Dioxide,ZInc Oxide, Iron Oxide,Tin Oxide ,red#40,carmine,dimethicone
Suga Mama – Mica, Titanium Dioxide,ZInc Oxide, Iron Oxide,Tin Oxide ,Synthetic Fluorophylogopite,Silica,Dimethicone,carmine

Price:
$6 for 5 gram jar, $10 for 10 gram jar, $2.50 for 1/8 tsp sample jar (HighBeam line)
$5 for 5 gram jar no sifter, $8 for 10 gram jar w/ sifter, $1.75 for 1/8 tsp sample jar

Here are the shade descriptions that I came up with. * means I really liked the color.
*jealous – pale yellow with green tinge
*fortune cookie – light yellow gold with peach tinge
copper heart – copper with a peachy-pink tinge
*Free Falling – gold with gold, blue and copper sparks
*Coral Reef – pink with a greenish-gold shift
Troll Lover – silver with a green shift
*Field of Gold- bright grass green with gold tinge
*Cheer – pink-mauve on a charcoal base
Cherry Peep – glowy light pink
8465 – light pink with silver shimmer
*Suga Mama – glowy magenta fuchsia
*Man Eater – lilac plum
*Eggplant – plum with an indigo base
Jaded – navy blue
8462 – icy lavender with silver glitter
*Mercy – copper with a plum base

Suga Mama absolutely positively is amazing! I just LOVE that color. Jealousy seems like it’s spot on for spring, as it’s an unusual light yellow with green tinge. It reminds me a bit of MAC Laundry Daze from the Color Added quad (MAC Shop Cook Collection). I think Coral Reef and Fortune Cookie are really neat, too. If you’re a green lover, you will fall in love with Field of Gold.

Most of these shadows remind me of the MAC crushed metal samples that I have. Some apply more smoothly than others. 8462 and 8465 are going to be reformulated. They were the two that I found the most difficult to work with. They just didn’t want to apply smoothly. These are all swatched on top of Meow’s Light Primer. The shadows all seemed very pigmented! I was quite happy to see several duochrome shades.

Every jar I received came sealed. The shadows were packaged inside bubble wrap so that they would be safe during transit. Nothing spilled

So far, I really like these shadows. You can expect to see a look from me with Suga Mama! I just can’t pass up that magenta shade.

I have never heard of this brand,Phyrra! They all look so pretty! Can I ask,where can they be purchased? I see a couple that I really like! Thank you for swatching these!

These shadows seem really affordable! I really like everything in Row 2. I’d buy it in a quad if I could!

These are some absolutely gorgeous pigments you’ve swatched! Thank you for the swatches and review. Definitely don’t need more pigments but they look so tempting….! Field of Gold is definitely my favorite – super beautiful!

I really love fortune cookie! You really caught the color shift well. And I especially like all of the soft pink shades, although I don’t own many pinks as for now.

These were my first foray into mineral makeup. I have way so much stuff off her and she has always been so hopefully and chatty. So glad Moi is getting the recognition on bigger blogs
