Yesterday was the first day in a while that I felt like really wearing makeup. I even did a video tutorial. Once I’ve got the tutorial edited together I’ll share it with you. It’s also the first time in I don’t know HOW long that I wore full lashes. Normally I just wear demis. I did a look from Rae Morris’ book Express Makeup. You can see the video tutorial for this look here.
There are lots of pix inside. Be warned.
I hate smiling and showing teeth.
Nyx HD Eye Shadow Primer
Makeup Geek Neptune – lid, crease, lower lash line
Benefit Fancy Pansy – haloed around Neptune
NARS Via Veneto – outer upper lash line and lower water line
Sugarpill Poison Plum – along upper lash line and lower lash line and outer upper crease, on top of Neptune
Lost in Makeupland Faerie – browbone
Sugarpill Poison Plum – to define brows
Smashbox Lash Primer
Sugarpill Stormy False Eyelashes
Philosophy Hope in a Tinted Moisturizer in Extra Light
Benefit Hello Flawless OxygenWOW Foundation in I’m Pure 4 Sure Ivory
Make Up For Ever HD finishing powder
MAC Oh so Fair – blush
Nyx Taupe – contour
Illamasqua intense gloss in Indulge – middle of the lips
Morgana Cryptoria gloss in Spellcaster – outside of the lips
The lashes are awesome! Usually I really only like demis because of the weight but they were comfortable! Now to just get better at putting full falsies on.
The cute squishable earrings are from WhimsyBeading. They’re pink and orange, lightweight, and I totally love them.
I did a sort of fun lip thing by applying Morgana Cryptoria Spellcaster all over my lips. Then I applied some Illamasqua Indulge to the center of my lips with my finger tip. Then I added a bit more of Spellcaster. I like how the lips turned out.
What do you think of this vibrant blue look? Are you excited that there will be a video tutorial soon?

Fun look! I love the colors together and the gradient on your lips. The neon orange earrings give it a rave-like touch, it’s cute! I’m looking forward to the video
Thank you! I should have blended the glosses more. I got too excited at using the brights.
Such a fierce look, I love that shade of indigo blue!
I really love this look, both the eyes & the lips! The earrings are cute to. I used to have belly rings that had the squishy things on the ends way back when I was 19 or 20 lol (wow that was about 10 years ago)!
Your eyeshadow is practically glowing it’s so vibrant! Love it! The earrings are also way cool, they’re so perfect for you!
Thank you! I’m impressed by how awesome they turned out!
Oooo I was expecting expensive price, but this eyelashes look awsome and have a friendly price, thanks for the tip.
You’re welcome Nadia! Sugarpill is extremely budget friendly!
Wow, look at that blue! I’ve had my eye on Neptune and this might just push me to get it.
It’s so worth it Ivy!
I like it and I especially like the lashes. They’re such a great price, but I’m still wary as I suuuuuuuuck at putting on falsies (and I’m cheap, I don’t want to waste $5 just to mess them all up)
The easiest thing to do is cut them in half and then apply them to the outer lash line.
I love the gradient lip. Your eyes look like they’re glowing with a radioactive halo! I mean that in the coolest way possible.
Rawr, thanks NeenaJ!
Those lashes are awesome, as are your eyebrows
I like the lips a LOT because of the subtle ombre between the two colors. I also love the photos without flash because every color shows really true.
Just followed your blog, Mandy:-)
Aww thank you! I got some hate email over the lips.
OT but I like your new banner :o) Is it self portrait or someone made it for you??
Thank you! My friend Erin made it for me
omg I LOVE those lashes on you!!! I also really like Neptune. Might have to get that
Thank you so much Dom!
I can’t pull off blues to save my life and have never liked it much when others do “blue looks,” but this is the most beautiful blue FOTD I have ever seen! The lashes make it look like stars are rising in your eyes:-)
Thank you so much Lisa!
I love the eye makeup!
WOAH! Your eyes look huge! And that eyeshadow! It’s like a glowing cornflower colour….almost like a black light. This is so different, and so awesome.
Thank you Cathryn! This is such an awesome blue.
Amazing look! Love the blue shadow and your skin looks flawless! I’m going to have to check out those earrings! Very cute!
Awesome! The blue looks like it glows!
Thank you Mindy!
WOW this look is amazing on you. I must try it myself now heh
I so love this look to insanity and back! you look like a living anime! <3
Wow…your eyes look so intense! (esp. when you don’t smile). Gorgeous!
Looking forward to the video!!
Thank you A!
I’m surprised the NYX primer works so well! I’m really wanting to try some Illamasqua, too, but I’ll have to order it online since no one near me seems to carry it. You’re lucky. You can get away with so many bright colours!
By the way, do you buy MAC online or in stores? It seems like the MAC store employees down here have… an elitist attitude problem. Five employees, two customers, including me. Completely ignored until I got someone to talk to me about the product… with the “I can’t believe you haven’t been shopping here exclusively your entire life” look. And watching one person put makeup on a customer, they didn’t bother to clean their brushes first. I was put off of shopping there. Is it like that at every store, or just locally? I would at least think that someone in this kind of job would know to clean their brushes between people! Ack!
I tend to buy MAC online

Thank you! I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Holy WOW lady! Gorgeous!
This is so intense- and I love love love how it just screams “loud” without *being* loud… Does that make any sense?? The lashes are also very awesome.
Easily one of my favoritest blue looks you’ve done ever!
And your teeth are so pretty- don’t hide them so much!
Thank you so much A! <3
I love this look so frakkin’ much, that blurple shade just GLOWS
