Sweetpea & Faye – An Introduction

A while back I purchased some products from Sweetpea & Faye after seeing them advertised on my blog. I purchased the Midnight Summers Dream Collection, a liquid lipstick in Mermaid Kiss and received a free shadow, Chupacabra.

Eye Shadow Ingredients:
Pure Mica, Sericite, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide,Tin Oxide

I have to say that I find it a touch irritating to see ingredients listed as ‘Pure Mica.’

Liquid Lipstick Ingredients:
Pure Mica, Sericite, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide,Tin Oxide,All Natural Beeswax, All Natural Carnauba wax, Castor Oil , French Vanilla Flavor Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil

Price:
$13.99 for the Midnight Summers Dream Collection
$4.99 for single eye shadow for net weight 1g, in standard 5g jar.
$7.99 for TUBE SIZE: 0.37oz / 10.5 g Comes with a slanted applicator tip.

Shade Descriptions:
Lickety Split is a fun lime green with kiwi reflects. It goes on shimmery and has a pearl like quality to it. What really makes this lime shade unique it`s the goldish orange reflects that it has throughout.
Shenanigans is a dark green with blue, gold and green shimmer in it, As you can see in the pictures it goes on dark green but has an amazing shimmery affect to it.
Pandimonium is really unique it has a shimmery dark green look but also has light patina tones. Dark grean and gold reflects is what really makes this mineral different
Chupacabra is a super shimmery dark chocolate brown. It has copper and brown shimmer and reflects in it. When applied it looks just like rich dark chocolate, a hint of smokey grey undertones and lots and lots of shimmer.
Mermaid Kiss is a NEON HOT Pink.

Lickety Split on the lid, Shenanigans at the outer corner.

I actually love all the products I purchased. However, Lickety Split is my absolute favorite. It’s a wonderfully complex color. I don’t see it offered as a single eye shadow, and I’m not sure if that’s an oversight or if it is only available in the collection. I feel like the color descriptions are very accurate. Mermaid Kiss isn’t quite as neon hot pink as I thought it would be, but it is very pretty.

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I’m very happy with the shadows I purchased. I think they’re all lovely and complex colors. I like the liquid lipstick. The company has some very nice products. Additionally, they’ve got some gorgeous photoshoot photos on their facebook page, so be sure to check them out!

Have you tried Sweetpea & Faye? What do you think of Lickety Split and the rest of the eye shadows?

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

  1. I ADORE that lid color! I checked their site once but nothing made me want to order. I would need to see a lot more reviews before I considered giving them a try. Thanks for the swatches and look!

Thanks for reviewing them, we had this in a “to try whenever” list. Don’t know how it got there because I think I had never heard of it. So far, we’ve only got good things to say about indie mmu, and this review pushed this company up oin the list.
And yeah, I don’t know why, English isn’t my first or even second language, but “pure mica” sounds just wrong, kind of “sweetened sugar” or “mineral salt”. Redundant? I don’t know if that’s a word. Anyways XD

I’m so envious that you speak so many languages! That’s awesome :)

Thanks for the review! I haven’t tried SP&F, but have browsed their shop a few times. This is one company that seems to have been around for a while, but doesn’t seem to get much attention. I’ve kind of wondered about them, but never enough to place an order. Thanks for the review!

I think it’s worth checking out their eye shadows. The lipstick was a bit hard to get out but the color was nice.

Haven’t tried them yet, but they are sitting in my bedroom waiting behind all of the other eyeshadows/companies I need to test. I *have* swatched a few SP&F colors on the back of my hand and know from my experience that Chupacabra is exectly as your described it. Whether or not it can displace TIck:Tock’s Grandfather Clock as my favorite uber-sparkly brown remains to be seen, LOL :-)

I actually see Lickety Split as a single eyeshadows here => http://www.sweetpeaandfay.com/#!eyes/productsstackergalleryv20=54

I definitely need tha shade though, it reminds me of Chanel Peridot nail polish in eyeshadow form, which means awesome. <3

Thanks for the link, I couldn’t find it the other day when I was looking.

These shadows are so pretty. They’re much more complex than I would have thought. I have heard not so great things about their lippies. Maybe I should bypass the lippies and go straight to the shadows.
