Towards the end of February I received several products from Marc Anthony True Professional Hair Care from the Bye Bye Frizz line to try out. I was quite excited by this as I wanted to find a replacement for my L’Oreal EverSleek Sulfate-Free Reparative Smoothing shampoo & conditioner. Marc Anthony True Professional is sold at Ulta and Drugstore.com.
Keratin Smoothing Shampoo - $6.99
Gently cleanse to create softer, shinier, smoother hair. K-Silk Complex and an Amino Acid Blend helps to create a coherent cuticle smoothing layer to correct frizz, protect from damage and retain moisture. Protects against color fade and blocks humidity for longer lasting frizz control. Your frizzy hair will instantly feel smoother, softer and more manageable.
Keratin Smoothing Conditioner – $6.99
Detangles, smoothes the cuticle and adds shine. K-Silk Complex and an Amino Acid Blend helps to create a coherent cuticle smoothing layer to correct frizzy hair and protect from damage. Protects against color fade. Offers extra moisture and frizz control, with added humidity protection for long lasting smooth styles.
Keratin Smoothing Blow Dry Cream – $7.99
Get a perfectly smooth blowout with this dual purpose Blow Dry Cream. It can be used on straight or curly hair for a fool-proof sleek finish blowout, or on curls for defined scrunching and diffusing. K-Silk Complex creates a ‘protein shield’ on the cuticle to absorb damage caused by external factors (styling, hot tools, UV rays, etc.) leaving your own hair intact and stress-free. Smoothes frizzy hair, locks in moisture and adds shine. Blocks humidity for ultimate frizz-control.
30-Day No Frizz Keratin Smoothing Treatment - $11.99
This semi-permanent Keratin Smoothing Treatment takes your frizzy hair to a level of smooth you never thought you could achieve for up to 30 days*, with just one use. This at home treatment removes frizz from both curly and straight hair and softens the texture of curls and waves for faster, easier, straighter styling. The heat activated Keratin infused formula bonds to hair strands to laminate and smooth the cuticle locking in a frizz-free shine. It helps to repel humidity so that you keep your frizz control no matter the weather.
Before I begin, I want to remind you about my hair. My hair is fine (really, it’s the opposite of thick) and straight as a board. In general, I’m ok with this. Sometimes I wish for glorious, naturally curly hair, but for the most part I’ve learned to embrace my straight hair and love it. I do however have to fight with Florida’s humidity on occasion. That’s why I gravitate towards products to fight frizz and embrace smooth.
The Website Claims:
The site claims that this line will fight heat, humidity and frizz, for both straight and curly hair. It’s also supposed to protect against color fade and against damage.
Does it live up to its claims?
So far, yes, though I can only speak for straight hair, since I’m not gifted with glorious curls. To be fair, summer isn’t in full swing yet in Florida. It’s only spring, so we haven’t had full on summer heat and humidity yet. That said, the products have been good with my hair.
The shampoo and conditioner are sulfate free and they don’t rip my color out when used. They do a great job of cleansing my hair, leaving it feeling soft and clean without feeling dried out. This is WIN in my book. They have a vague, slightly candy smell that I can’t really put my finger on. The scent fades, so it doesn’t compete with my body wash or perfume.
The Blow Dry cream is nice, too. It helps keep the frizzies at bay and my hair smooth without weighing my hair down. Because of my hair texture, I usually worry about conditioners and creams weighing my hair down. It’s not something I want to encounter. As a volume seeker, I want my hair up and out.
I haven’t tried the Keratin Treatment. This is because I typically don’t flat iron all of my hair. I only flat iron 2 to 4 distinct locks, if I flat iron at all. I know that the treatment is supposed to lock in the straight and keep away the frizz, but I think for my hair needs, unless my hair becomes unmanageable, I just don’t need to go to that extreme.
When I contacted Marc Anthony, the company gave me this statement:
The Marc Anthony True Professional Hair Collections are Not tested on Animals.
Would I purchase?
Yes! This is a really solid line. I like how the products make my hair feel and more importantly, how they don’t make my hair feel heavy or weighed down. They keep me smooth and silky and frizz free. They’re extremely affordable, too! I definitely recommend them if you’re looking for affordable hair care products to keep you smooth and fight the frizz from humidity.
Have you tried Marc Anthony? What did you think of the products?
Products sent for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I am so, so happy to find someone with hair like mine!! I haven’t tried this yet because like you, I was afraid it would weigh my down and I need as close to big Texas hair and I can get! Have you tried the BEACH WAVES set? I actually got waves from my stick straight hair! thanks for the review!
Yay! I’m glad we’re hair twins I’ll have to check out the beach waves!
My hairdresser used this product on my hair and my coworkers thought I got a Brazilian blowout. It made my hair soft and compliant and it lasted for a few days. The salon sold it for double what I paid for it through Amazon. Works for me!
Wow yay! Awesome!

I used this about a month ago and it worked well. I don’t think I used enough product. I want to use the remainder this week. My hairdresser said she would do it for me the same day she puts a semi-permanent color in my hair. I’ve heard that will help seal the keratin in, but I’m concerned it might be a problem. Does anyone know if it’s ok to do both on the same day? Also, the box says not to use product after it’s been open. I don’t think it will be harmful. Anyone have advice?
