Alison Raffaele Inner Glow Gel Blushes Review

Quite a long time ago I picked up these Alison Raffaele stick blushes from Hautelook (affiliate link). I really liked them but I haven’t worn them too much and I realized I thought I’d reviewed them but I hadn’t. I picked up Witty and Glamorous because I thought they’d be a lovely combination.

Ingredients
Propylene Glycol, Water, Steareth 20, Stearic Acid, Sorbitol, PPG 26 Buteth 26, PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance, May Contain (+/-): Mica, Red 33, Yellow 6 Lake, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090)

Directions
Smile to find the apples of your cheeks – that’s where your inner Glow should go.
Dab directly on cheeks, or apply with your fingers, foundation brush, or sponge for a more precise application.
Blend with short, outward, downward strokes.

Inner Glow is a translucent water based gel blush gives cheeks a glow that appears to come from within. Its lightweight, non-sticky, Mineral Oil free formula blends easily and is suitable for all skin types, from oily to dry. Available in 7 shades, the intensity of your Inner Glow can be easily built up or blended down. Best of all, the color lasts and lasts and lasts, yet easily washes off with soap and water.

Wearing Glamorous as a highlight

Price:
$25 for 1.9 oz. of product at Amazon.com

Colors I have:
Witty – Sheer peach, more like a reddened peachy shade
Glamorous – sheer highlighter blush, almost a sheer pinky gold

What I liked about the products:
They really do give you a natural flush and they’re easy to blend due to the gel formula if you’re on bare skin.

What I didn’t like about the products:
I felt like it was hard to apply them on top of mineral foundation. I always had to apply them under foundation for them to look right and not feel like a sticky, streaky mess.

Would I buy again?
If there was another shade I wanted, maybe. I like how easy it is to get a natural looking glow with Witty. I didn’t really feel like Glamorous showed up on the skin so I feel like it didn’t work as well as it should have for a highlighter shade.

I like Witty, but you’ve such great light skin I imagine getting Glamorous to show would require some work. Depending on the skin undertones some highlighters won’t show at all (Benefit’s Moonbeam looks great and subtle on me, but Sunbeam -more pigmented!- just blends and disappears). It’s one of the things I really won’t buy online anymore xD
I love gel and cream blushes. They’re easy to apply, save you a brush and also time and space!
That said, I prefer cream than gel, the gels I’ve tried were sheerer, had a dewy look or as you said, didn’t work over foundation. Inglot AMC cream blushes are my favourites; under $15 for 0.19 oz, super pigmented (you only need a poppy seed-sized dab for both cheeks) and they have a cream to powder finish but they aren’t powdery. I’ve got 85 (deep pinkish mauve for fall and winter) and 84 (softest pink for summer and spring).

I’ll have to check out Inglot’s! Thanks for the rec :)

Oh, I remember buying one from Hautelook! I got Glamorous and mucked around with it for a bit before I realized it wasn’t working for me and threw it away (along with all of my push-up gel blushes from Tarte–they were leaking everywhere, unfortunately). It just wouldn’t last on my oily skin and made me look greasier rather than glamorous. :(

Oh no! That sucks that they all leaked.
