Guestpost from BeautyGnome
Hello! I’m Jessica from beautygnome.blogspot.com and I am so thrilled that Phyrra asked me to do a guest blog post! When I asked her what topic I should write about, she suggested a fun, bright manicure. No surprise here..when I think Phyrra, I think bold, bright, beautiful colors! I chose to do some nail art using neon orange and pink- two of the hottest colors this Spring. I am very into nail art lately.. I think it is one of the easiest, most creative, and most enjoyable ways to add some color and detail to your ensemble. Also, it is much cheaper to jazz up your nails than to buy a new accessory. Think of your nails AS an accessory, and the possibilities are really endless!
Here is what I came up with:
This is a really easy manicure to do, especially if you are just starting out with nail art. I began by painting my nails with two coats of Orly Orange Punch. Using a small brush, I painted the little hearts first with Milani White on the Spot before painting them over with Color Club Jackie Oh!. Painting the pink over the white makes it really pop! Making the heart shape is easy- just make a thick “V” shape with a small brush. Don’t worry if it isn’t perfect- when you outline the hearts you can easily cover up any mistakes. I let this all dry thoroughly to avoid dragging when I added the black detailing. Using a black nail art pen from Kiss, I carefully outlined the hearts. This really adds definition to the manicure. Lastly, I added white dots using the end of a bobby pin dipped in the Milani White. If you’re really fancy, you can use a dotting tool! ) Seal it all up with a topcoat (I used Seche Vite) and you’re done!
What do you think? Is this a nail art idea you would try? You could vary the colors to match anything!
Thank you so much for reading, and thanks again to Phyrra for the opportunity to write on her blog.
All the best,
