I’m excited to tell you that Hip Apotheca now carries Alima Pure! Alima Pure is a cruelty-free mineral makeup brand. I reviewed their Fairy Tale Holiday collection. I’ve got some more Alima Pure products from Hip Apotheca to show you today!
Hip Apotheca is a really cool online store. Their goal is to find the most innovative natural and organic lifestyle products and deliver them to you. Most, if not all, the products that Hip Apotheca carries are cruelty-free. They even make it easy to shop vegan! They’re a very small company and most of the brands they work with are small companies.
They’ve got some new products and brands I really want to check out, like Aim to be Pleased Deodorette, Scotch Naturals nail polish, Koko Haze body mist.
$16 for the #39 large shadow brush
$22 for the #17 blush brush
$12.50 for the .08 oz/2.5 g eye shadows
$20 for the 16 oz/5 g blushes
Today all of the colors are swatched on bare skin.
The colors I have from Alima Pure are:
Smoke – deep blue-grey
Aegean – vivid teal
Gold Dust – brilliant gold
Mimosa – pale apricot pink (satin matte)
Sahara – lustrous spicy bronze with hints of rose and gold
Juniper – rich deep green
London – emerald green with high shimmer
Venus – sparkling pink-gold with high shimmer
The brushes they sent are the 39 large shadow brush and the 17 blush brush. Both are cruelty-free. I really like the feeling of the silky soft synthetic bristles. The size on the large brush is great for a wash of color or your base color on your eyes. The blush brush is perfect for applying blush with great control because of the size of the brush head. The bristles are densely packed, yet have enough give so that your blush isn’t streaky.
The eye shadows are nicely pigmented and smooth to apply. Of the three colors, Gold Dust is the most amazing to me. I swatched it and couldn’t stop staring at it. It’s a yellow-toned gold, perfect for year round wear. I do think it would look fabulous this summer paired up with Aegean. Aegean is a very nice blue-teal, perfect for summer. Smoke is an interesting shade that would make a great liner. It’s a complex grey with charcoal undertones, silver overtones, hints of blue in the grey.
Juniper is a mossy green to me. It reminds me a bit of MAC Velvet Moss. It’s easy to apply and easy to blend, especially for a matte. London is more of a yellow-toned green, but definitely has lots of shimmer and sparkle to it. Venus is so pretty! It’s a light pink champagne color with lots of fine sparkle.
I really like the blushes. Mimosa is described as a pale apricot pink and I think that’s accurate. The blush has good pigmentation and that color is perfect for a natural flush. I find it quite flattering. Sahara was my favorite of everything and I can’t wait to wear it. It comes across as a peachy bronze with a gold sheen. I’ve been obsessed with peaches and gold recently, so this may be my go-to blush for a while.
Me wearing Sahara blush
I’m so excited that Hip Apotheca is carrying mineral makeup! Sahara and Gold Dust are awesome. It’s also great that they’ve got nice cruelty-free brushes.
What do you think of Hip Apotheca? Have you ordered from them? How about Alima Pure?
