Quickie – Sweet Treat Cosmetics

I’ve got a ton of swatches to process and post. For me to have any hope of getting through them I’m going to have to do them quickly. Here’s the first in my Quickie series, Sweet Treat Cosmetics. Sweet Treat Cosmetics has been open since June 2011, so it’s almost their 1 year anniversary!

The site has very cutesy branding, and I like it. It’s a nice contrast to the variety of tough girl / punk girl sellers out there. It’s an easy to navigate site and everything is clearly labeled.  I love the little cupcake outline for each color.

All of the colors are swatched on Meow Cosmetics Light Primer.

My thoughts on descriptions:
Champagne – beige with gold tones
Buttercream – pale nude pink
Cupcake – light magenta pink
Popsicle – vivid purple
Lemon Drop – bright yellow
Fondant – silvery grey with glitter and shimmer
Macaron – pretty turquoise
Strawberry Cheesecake – red tinted gloss

While all Sweet Treat Products are cruelty free, not all of the products are vegan or lip safe. Some shades contain carmine.
There are little symbols all over the website that indicate vegan or not lip safe.

Cupcake, while pretty and I love the name and hue, seemed a bit on the sheer side.
Champagne is a nice shade that is a workhorse of a color. It’s a good neutral.
Buttercream is a nice alternative to Champagne for a neutral.
Popsicle is a pretty purple.
Lemon Drop is really great if you like yellows. It’s vivid.
Fondant was a nice silvery-grey shade. I didn’t really see the holographic glitter listed in the description but it’s very pretty.
I really liked Macaron as it’s a nice turquoise.
The gloss was a pretty sheer red for those who are afraid of wearing a bolder shade. I wasn’t fond of the scent.

$5 for a full size eyeshadow or gloss
$1 for a sample

Me wearing Cupcake on the outer 1/4 of my lid in my Team Pink eye Look.

Would I purchase from Sweet Treat?
Probably. I’m interested in checking out Sweet Strawberries, Sugar Rush, Key Lime Pie and Blue Hawaii. I do feel like they have some nice colors, good texture, and most have good pigmentation. I did find Cupcake to be lacking, as I mentioned, but not the rest of the shades.

What do you think of the colors? Do you like Sweet Treat?

Samples sent for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I’ve never heard of this company before, but the colors are crazy pigmented, or at least look that way.

Some of the colors are. Cupcake is not. The colors are all swatched on primer, not bare skin. Primer makes everything look more vibrant :)

This is the company that bought out/took over Antoinette’s Revenge, right? The gloss looks a bit patchy in your swatch… does it apply evenly?

      • Phyrra

I don’t know about the Antoinette’s Revenge acquisition? The smell of the gloss reminded me so much of cheesecake I couldn’t wear it (I don’t like cheesecake, at all). Since I didn’t wear it, I think it would take a couple swipes of the gloss to give an even coverage, but that’s a guess.

Hmm- really like the looks of Popsicle and Macaron. And I need new eyeshadows since I changed from bright red hair to dark blue… hmmm…
