Sparkly Prom Look

Since Prom is right around the corner, and MakeupBee is having a Sparkle for Prom look contest, I decided to do a Sparkly Prom look (you can ‘Like‘ my look). I wanted it wearable and pretty.

For my prom, I had dark red hair and I wore a silver prom dress.

For the Eyes:

  • Apply Too Faced Shadow Insurance to prep the eye
  • Spray MAC Fix+ on a brush and apply Tarina Tarantino Pure Nude to the lid with a lid brush
  • With a fluffy brush, apply Pure Nude on the crease and browbone
  • Use a smudge brush to apply Illamasqua Heroine to the lower lash line and tightly in the crease
  • With a crease brush apply Heroine in the crease and outer edge of the lid and blend inward
  • With a fiber optic pointed crease brush apply Makeup Geek Galaxy to the outer crease
  • Line your eyes and do a cat eye with MUFE Aqua Liner 13 Matte Black
  • Brighten your lower waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 Midnight Cowboy pencil
  • Highlight your brow and inner corners of the eye with BftE Glistening

For the face:

  • Apply Mirabella Skin Tint Creme in 1N to the t-zone to even out your skintone
  • Use a touch of NARS Chantilly Concealer on the orbital bone under the eye; a little goes a long way
  • Add a bit of Dr. Brandt dark circles away™ collagen eye serum on top of Chantilly and slowly blend upwards under the eye
  • With an angled blush brush I applied Nyx Taupe to contour
  • Use a fluffy brush to apply tokidoki Royal Pride bronzer as blush
  • Apply a tiny bit of Urban Decay Moonshine as highlight with finger tips

For the lips:

  • Use NARS velvet lip gloss pencil in New Lover

I think if you’re a redhead, you’d look great in a deep purple, vibrant cobalt, silver or black dress.

What do you think of my sparkly prom look? Do you like it?

Some products purchased by me. Some products sent for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I LOVE THAT LID COLOR! Disappointed though, I was hoping it was indie lol :c

      • Phyrra

I have a very large makeup collection (as I’m sure you can imagine) and I’m still trying to see if I have anything similar, and so far, not really. It’s a very pretty color, I thought I’d have something like it, and nothing seems to have that cream with the standout gold when applied with MAC Fix + but, I will still continue to look. It’s such a gorgeous shade :)

This is absolutely gorgeous – I need to recreate this look, or something close to it using what I have! I love it so, so much. I’m glad you have such detailed instructions. Aaaah so PRETTY!

      • Phyrra

You might actually be able to do it with a light creamy beige eyeshadow, uhm, BftE Very Vanilla, and then put a sheer glittery / iridescent shade on top, like one of the Meow Christmas colors, Aurora Borealis.

Oooh, Pure Nude is gorgeous. And hey! You and Phaedra are both wearing purple! That jewel-toned purple looks great against you skin tone. I think you’ve linked to the shop before, but where do you buy her collars?

      • Phyrra

My friend Noel makes her collars. Currently her shop is offline because she moved and got married, etc, but once she’s back up and running I can let you know ;)

This is such a pretty look on you. I love your flushed looking cheeks and the eye look is fabulous! I’m going to try and do something similar with some of my shadows ;-)

That red wig is so pretty, and it goes with the neutral eyes perfectly!

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Karoliina!

Definitely pretty and very wearable for girls who like to keep it kind of natural for prom :-)

      • Phyrra

Thank you! This is probably all I could have gotten away with in high school :P

I’ll be passing this on to a reader of mine who asked for some makeup tips/products for prom looks. I didn’t go to my prom (we boycotted it b/c the tickets were too expensive…ha!!) so she’ll love to read this post.

      • Phyrra

Yay! I’m glad to help Brit! *hug*

    • Daintynymph

Your date is lovely, and her hairstyle looks nice and sophisticated!

      • Phyrra

        Hehe thanks!

    • Ollie

This is very pretty:) What fibre optic pointed crease brush do you use? I like fibre optic brushes but I have yet to find ones for applying product to the eyes
Also do you have a video on how to use Mac Fix+ ? I hear of it a alot and can’t figure out if it’s worth getting

      • Phyrra

I have one that I purchased from Aromaleigh V1 a few years ago.

I don’t have a video on MAC Fix+ but I can make one. I basically just spritz the brush, dip in minerals, and brush the color on :)
