Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat Review

A while back I had the opportunity to try out the Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

The Website Claims:
A clear topcoat that instantly waterproofs, refreshes, and protects any mascara all day, without drying or clumping. This advanced, lightweight formula glides on smooth, dries quickly, and gives your lashes a touchable, soft lacquer finish that lasts all day.

Anastasia Beverly Hills states that they are cruelty-free.

Isododecane, Polyethylene, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Synthetic Wax, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Propylene Carbonate, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butylhydroxyhydrocinnamate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol.

Key Ingredients:
-Jellified Triglycerides: Provide a creamy, lightweight texture.
-Silicone Resin: Provides long lasting hold and a waterproof film.
-High Melting Point Wax: Provides high definition and lasting effects.

$21 for .19 oz

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes! I’ve tested this baby through blood, sweat and tears! Seriously though, I’ve tested it through my watery eyes from allergies, through crying, and through sweating outside at Universal Studios Orlando. It didn’t budge. It didn’t come off on my contacts, or my lids, or my cheeks.

It does what it promises to do… It makes your mascara waterproof. I tried it at Universal with Too Faced Better Than False lashes mascara and it worked great. I tried it with tarte and it worked great. It also worked perfectly with Milani.

It looks like a clear jelly black on the brush and when applied it doesn’t seem to affect the color of your mascara. It didn’t make my mascara clump up. It just seems to work with whatever I’m wearing.

It also removes easily with my Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover.

Would I purchase?
Yes! This means I can wear ANY mascara, provided I use this on top of it, and it won’t come off on my contacts when I’m having a bad allergy day. It won’t let nylons come off on my cheeks. It really works! Anastasia Beverly Hills made a clear winner when they creased the Lash Genius and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Have you ever tried a waterproofing topcoat? Did you like it? Would you try Anastasia Lash Genius?

That looks like what I have been looking for. Yay! There are so many mascaras that I want to try, but I have very oily eyelids and non-waterproof mascaras slide right off after a few hours.

This goes on top of any mascara you own. It’s not really a mascara on its own. But it is fabulous.

Yes, perhaps I wasn’t clear. This means I can now try the non-waterproof mascaras that I am interested in and use this over it.

Ah yes! That’s what I’ve been doing it :) I love that it doesn’t make my lashes clump!

I’m testing this right now myself- who knew I’d actually get use of all of those mascaras that give me raccoon eyes! Now I’m digging through my box to find them and test them out with Lash Genius!

I’m so excited to try this. I love, love, love L’Oreal Voluminous mascara, the original formula, but I work outside and it smudges with the least bit of moisture. I’ve tried all the other Voluminous formulas – waterproof, false fiber, carbon, collagen, and they all flake, smudge or clump. I can’t wait to use Lash Genius to waterproof my favorite mascara. I’m ordering it today! Thank you for your review!
