Cherry Banana Oat Smoothie

I made this smoothie for lunch today from things I had in the house. In retrospect it’s probably a better breakfast food, but it was tasty!

Why yes that is a frozen Butterbeer mug.

Just 4 ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of old-fashioned Quaker Oats
  • 1/2 cup frozen dark cherries
  • 1 medium fresh banana
  • 4 oz V-8 V-Fusion Pomegranate Blueberry Juice

I am going to get adventuresome and try a green smoothie sometime soon. What is your favorite smoothie recipe?

      This is actually very similar to my usual breakfast:
      1 banana, 10 frozen strawberries, 6 spoonfuls of oatmeal and enough milk to get a nice drinkable texture.

      Sounds delish! I have all the ingredients in my kitchen, except the cherries. But I do have frozen raspberries- might be a nice substitute. Thanks for posting :)

      I’ve never put oatmeal in smoothies before but I’ve seen lots of recipes that do, your pic looks delicious so I’ll have to try it now!

      I usually put frozen mixed berries, a frozen banana, greek yogurt (warning, this does make it sour and a lot of people don’t like it but I do haha) and a little bit of milk

      Yum! After looking it up, oatmeal is mostly what I use (is “avena” in Spanish), if only because nowadays it’s difficult to get anyone to eat nonfluffy, non whitened cereals.
      Also be don’t get berries where I live, when I do, I definitely use cranberries!
      My favourite: 1 frozen banana, 6 frozen strawberries, two spoons of oatmeal, half a glass of milk.
      My brother’s: a frozen banana, 1 yogurt (greek or probiotic), some brown sugar, cinnamon, 2 ice cubes.
      The grossest ever: use an orange or tangerines! It makes the milk separate xD we didn’t know… pity.

      That is so delicious. I like mixing whatever I have at that moment: bananas, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes. Sometimes add some dandelion leaves. :)

      Sounds yummy! I never mixed oats in smoothies before.

      You could have used this as a nice face mask too. I recently mixed strawberries with yoghurt and oats, and my skin had really never felt and looked as good. I ate what was left of course ;)

      My favorite smoothie is just plain banana and strawberry, I’m pretty boring when it comes to fruit.

      My favorite smoothie is spinach, frozen strawberries, frozen pineapple and a banana. LOVE green smoothies!
