Dorian & Dahl Femme Fatale Giveaway

I’ve paired up with Erin from Dorian & Dahl to give away one Femme Fatale 8oz perfume blend! Dorian & Dahl is a cruelty-free brand.

Femme Fatale
SCENT FAMILY: Spicy, Woody, Fruity
If looks could kill… oh no wait, hers do. Sexy, seductive and good with a blade, Femme Fatale will entrap you, make you feel like ‘the one’ and then give you a good beating. Spicy pink peppercorn and cedarwood dripping with amber caress a mysterious patchouli blend, suggestive berries, and midnight jasmine with a hints of ripe peaches, apple and pomegranate. Swipe on your brightest red lipstick and paint the town cause girl, they got nothin’ on you!

This scent is amazing and it’s my favorite out of all the ones that I’ve tested so far for Dorian & Dahl. I didn’t think I could wear patchouli without being overwhelmed by it, but the fruit and jasmine balance it out.

      1. I loved your recent (and past) primer comparisons. They are always so helpful. My dream perfume is sweet & candyish. cotton candy & caramelized apples, with a touch of fresh citrus perhaps yuzu to keep it from being overly sweet. maybe a little dance of florals going off in the background.. something like gardenia..

      1. I really liked the post about the new Wet n Wild lipsticks. The comparison swatches were very helpful in picking out a color. I went with Pinkerbell! Thanks Phyrra! My favorite notes in perfume are honey, honeysuckle, sandalwood and musky scents. I can’t wear perfume that’s overly fruity (like ALL fruit with no other notes to ground it). It just doesn’t work with my body chemistry. The perfume you’re giving away sounds like it will smell AWESOME!

      2. Although I tweet infrequently, I do follow Phyrra on Twitter. My Twitter name is thingstuffghost, or Amanda MacKenzie.

      1. In general, the one reason I continually come back to read your blog daily is because I LOVE your own personal sense of style. I love your individuality, I absolutely LOVE the way you apply your make up (I wish you would do video tutorials) For me, it’s easier to watch and follow someone apply their make up than simply follow written directions where you can’t actually see what they’re doing. While some people might think your look is too much, or that you wear too much eye make up, I am in awe of the talent it takes to not only apply the make up but the imagination and creativity you have to come up with the color combinations and then apply and blend the make up so perfectly so that it doesn’t appear gaudy. I love color, as compared to the nude or “natural” look and personally, I don’t really get that whole concept. Make up and playing around with all the beautiful colors to create new looks is supposed to be fun. And you bring this concept to such a high level. You embrace color, not fear it. And to take it a step further, you have this unique ability to balance your eye make up with the perfect blush and lip color. I’m a redhead and I love all shades of red hair color, whether subtle or outrageous. To be able to wear such vibrant make up with your blue based red hair color and always have it look so fabulous is definitely an art form. I just think you’re incredibly talented and look forward to seeing what new look you’ve come up with every day. Clearly you love beauty and make up and your enthusiasm is contagious, which is why I try to never miss any of your posts. I wish I had the ability to do my make up the way you do. That’s why I’d love for you to do tutorials. Thank you for bringing so much fun into my boring life and for making beauty so much fun.

As for my favorite scent, I LOVE the perfume by Paco Rabonne called Calandre. I really don’t know how to describe it in terms of ingredients but I’ll do my best. OK, I really don’t know how to describe it except to say that it is the most beautiful fragrance I have ever smelled in my life. It is very light and breezy, very feminine with a slight woodsy, male essence about it, but yet, extremely light and feminine. People actually associate this fragrance with me and I’ve been told on many occasions that they know I’m nearby because they can smell the light, lingering odor from my perfume in the air. Unfortunately, Paco Rabanne no longer makes this perfume, but I’ve stocked up and hope by the time I run out of my supply, the company will have come to their senses and start selling it again.

      1. i love that you’re posting more often! And all the videos you have been making. As for perfumes, I’m soooo picky. I love essential oils and more “natural” scents (including lavender!). I haven’t explored too many indie scents, but tend to prefer the ones I have tried over commercial ones!

You have some nerve. I am new to blogging and am attempting to learn it by myself, through trial and error. I posted such a complimentary comment in the comment section for this contest about you as well as shared the contest on every social network. I was completely unaware I couldn’t share the picture you posted as the prize in the giveaway for this contest. But instead of realizing that I must be new and didn’t understand I couldn’t do that, especially after reading all the wonderful things I said about you, you instead take the immature approach and blast your site, my site and every other site accusing me of being an internet thief. This is defamation since I didn’t do it purposefully and you should have had enough sense to realize that given what I wrote, I meant no harm. So I have unfriended you in every social forum and want your readers to see the comment I posted in the comment section of this contest and then look at what you blasted about me at the top of your newsletter. Let them decide if you could have had the decency to first contact me and inform me this was wrong so I could have done something about it, such as remove it plus I would have learned I couldn’t do that. On most blogs for contests, the bloggers require you to share the contest picture on their blog when you share about the contest on your blog. NOWHERE do you state that a person can’t post the picture for the contest. Furthermore, since I don’t get any extra points for posting this contest on my blog, I wasn’t getting any extra credit for doing so other than to help YOU. So this is what I get for doing what I thought was a good deed. I could start making nasty remarks about you here and all over the internet like you did to me but I am a decent person who was raised well and don;t behave in such a low class manner.

Hi, I have had several posts on my blog about hotlinking with my images:
        http://www.phyrra.net/2012/01/hotlinking.html

I do not allow hotlinking because of splogs. You can right click and download and save the image and then upload it to your blog if you’d like to use it.

It is considered bad blogger etiquette to hotlink to someone’s images.

Additionally, in my Disclaimer, I list the following information:
Please do not post anything from my blog without my permission. If you’d like to contact me for more information please email me. Everything in my blog is covered by copyright, all rights reserved. All logos and trademarks are property of their respective owners. Below is an excerpt from my Hotlinking post:
So there is an awful site out there called gelcosmetics.com that has been stealing my posts – images and written content. I tried contacting their host to get them to remove my content and got no response. This irritated me. So I did research on how to block hotlinking.

I followed this AWESOME tutorial, How to Prevent Websites from Hotlinking your Site Images. I added a wordpress plugin called Station Identification to make it clear that if my posts are showing up on another site, such as the one mentioned above, it’s clear it’s there without my permission.

I’ve added several sites to my allowed list, including:
BlogLovin’, Feedburner, Blogger, Google Reader, and Facebook.

      • Phyrra

To be clear, this was not a directed at you individually. This is directed at anyone who hotlinks my images.

        • Phyrra

I receive over 14k hits a day on that content thief image.

      • http://www.makeupzombie.net MakeupZombie

Good grief. I don’t believe Phyrra had ANY intentions of blasting you, she’s just protecting her site, due to recent events of content theft. You’d do the same if it came right down to it on your blog.

      • Phyrra

This is the site that caused me to start using Hotlinking protection on January 28, 2012.

        Dlori,

I understand that you’re upset and that you’re new to blogging, but being that you’re so new, maybe you don’t understand that Phyrra didn’t do this to you directly, it’s the way her blog is set up. Anyone hotlinking from her site would get the same automatic redirect that you got. This was not something that she went out of her way to do manually to you individually. Just thought that might help clear things up for you. Good luck with your blog!

      • Phyrra

To be clear, Dlori, my redirect is an automated service. I did not go out manually and change that image.

People are not welcome to hotlink my image from my blog.
People are welcome to contact me to ask if they can use an image from my blog.

I am very sorry that you are upset, but I did not blast you in any newsletter or anywhere else.

If you are seeing the ‘content thief’ in my newsletter that is a different issue entirely.
