EMK Placental Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser Review

Recently I had the opportunity to try out EMK Placental Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser. I’m not gonna lie, the word Placental in the name was a little creepy until I read that it was plant based.

The Website Claims:

This gentle, lightly exfoliating cleanser is infused with super nourishing Bio-Identical Plant Placental Extract, anti-aging peptides, protective antioxidants, nourishing moisturizers and soothing botanicals to give you a twice-daily dose of rejuvenation. Lifts away oils and pollutants to allow your skin to breathe freely. Leaves your skin rosy, radiant and ready to drink in your EMK Placental skin treatments.

• Anti-aging pentapeptides penetrate your skin to help repair environmental and free radical damage.
• Organic Aloe Vera soothes and hydrates while leaving a clean feeling.
• Excellent for makeup removal

$35 for 180 ml / 6 fl. oz.

Does it live up to its claims?
It has a pretty tall list of claims. However, I feel like it mostly lives up to its claims. I don’t feel like it’s an exfoliant. It feels like a milky creamy cleanser, but it doesn’t feel oily in the slightest. My skin really does feel good after using this. I use it with my clarisonic, since it’s a non-foaming cleanser. I really like that it has shea butter and aloe in the ingredients listing, which is probably one of the reasons it’s moisturizing without being oily or greasy. The aloe may also be why it’s sort of a calming cleanser on the skin. I also LOVE that it’s in a squeeze tube! I prefer this or a bottle with a pump for packaging.

There are only a few things I don’t like about this cleanser:
1. The Price. I feel like it’s a bit expensive for 6 oz.
2. The fact that it is a very runny formula. When I go to pour some out of the squeeze tube into my hand, way too much product comes out at once, way more than I need. So that’s annoying.
3. I really don’t feel like it exfoliated at all.

Would I purchase?
Yes, if it was on sale. I do really like the cleanser. I like how it feels with my skin. I just wish it was less expensive and didn’t come out quite as quickly as it does.
