I know everyone has already reviewed these, but I do love the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and I wanted to tell you my thoughts on them, too, especially since I’ve now used them for several months.

The Website Claims:

  • Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated.
  • Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%.
  • Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth.
  • Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine.

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes! The colors are as described. They’re hydrating and give sheer to medium buildable color. Some of the colors are really lovely. My favorites are Lollipop, Tutti Fruitti and Creme Brulee.

Cristina from Let Them Have Polish said she loved Lollipop to pieces, but wanted a matte version. I realized I owned one so I swatched it as well. Morgana Cryptoria Far Out is the same shade, only matte. It’s utterly gorgeous.

Lollipop is an awesome fuchsia. Raspberry Pie is a raspberry pink. Sugar Plum is a browned plum and on the sheer side. Strawberry Shortcake is a sheer light pink. Creme Brulee is a sheer light beige. Tutti Fruitti is a wearable bright orange.

Me wearing Tutti Fruitti

Would I purchase again?
Yes! I started out with two that I bought from a BOGO offer. Now I have 6. I really like the lip butters and I think they’re a very nice drugstore product.

Have you tried the Revlon colorburst lip butters? What shades do you like?

Products purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

this was the first lipstick i bought when i came here to the states, colour lollipop :). First i was disappointed, cause i thought it was a lipstick, i didn’t really knew the products yet. But by using it more and more, i started to really like this buttery feeling and the really nice colour. I’m thinking to get me more too. The only thing i’m not happy with is that the colour fades away too quick. I could use it like every 30 minutes to refresh the colour.

      • Phyrra

Yeah I didn’t really test the longevity of the wear since they’re more like a pigmented lip balm, which I see as something to apply every few hours

    • http://fiercenerditude.blogspot.com Vijaya

Wow, they look so pigmented on you.

      • Phyrra

I tend to use a lipliner to help the color out and to make them stick around longer ;)

    • http://roxcat.net/blog/ roxcat

I haven’t tried these but I’m very tempted since I love sheer and hydrating colors!

      • Phyrra

You might like these Roxcat :)

Tutti Frutti looks gorgeous on you, girl! It doesnt suit me at all, I have it too but couldnt pull it off :(

      • Phyrra

        Thanks Helz!

    • http://cherrysuedointhedo.com CherrySue

Delighted you like them, I had such high hopes too but they just don’t suit me. I find the shimmery ones too drying (as with all shimmers) but they feather on me too :(

The one redemption of the range, for me, is Pink Truffle, I absolutely love it. It’s a coffee pink nudey beauty, that stays put for hours x

      • Phyrra

Sounds like at least one is perfect :) Sorry the others didn’t work. Did you try them with a lipliner?

    • http://www.the-beauty-spot.net Rach

Amazing! We got a raw deal in the UK missing a load of shades :o

      • Phyrra

        Oh? How many are missing?

    • http://brightlycoloredperson.wordpress.com/ Daena

I love these — they are so, so good. I have Red Velvet, Sweet Tart and Tutti Frutti and they’re all fabulous. Sweet Tart is a MLBB shade on me and my go-to color when I can’t be bothered to think of what to wear.

      • Phyrra

I’ll have to take a peek at Sweet Tart!

I only have Cupcake but I love it so much I’m thinking of buying a second. It gives just the perfect amount of color and is so comfortable to wear.

      • Phyrra

I think they’re really nice for those who do like sheerer shades, since they can be left sheer or built up.

    • Melody

You’re making me want to track down Tutti Frutti! I have been so bad with these. I think I own almost all of them now -___-’ but at least I got most of them on sale. I really love Sugar Plum for everyday. Lollipop and Raspberry Pie are lovely statement shades and Gumdrop is the most wearable lilac/lavender I’ve ever had.

      • Phyrra

Definitely snag it on sale :) That’s what I did with mine.

I’ve been wanting to try these for a while, and since a trip to the drugstore for things I actually need is looming on my horizon, experts speculate that I will be unable to avoid picking one up. I really like how Tutti Frutti looks on you – it’s almost a pinky coral or a deep pinky peach. (I like the idea of bright orange but lips, not my best feature, unfortunate cosmetic choices in the past, etc. This seems sheer enough that even I can’t screw it up, though.)

      • Phyrra

I really like it, especially when I’ve got red hair, because it’s light enough to brighten the face and not detract from my eyes. I hope you find a shade you’ll love, Lee.

    • http://www.prettymaking.com Mandy

I’ve never tried a Revlon Lip Butter so I don’t see the appeal of them yet, but I know soooo many people love them!

      • Phyrra

For me they tend to be nice when I want a light lip :)

    • http://gothampolish.blogspot.com/ Gotham Polish

Tutti Fruitti looks great on you! I have Strawberry Shortcake and wear it everyday. I love how smooth they look, and the price point is just right :)

      • Phyrra

        I agree, they’re nice!

    • http://www.plannedresilience.net/ Eleanor

Thanks for including the ingredients. I wanted to get some of these. But now I know that I shouldn’t, since I am allergic to shea butter. I’m bummed, but appreciative. :)

      • Phyrra

Oh no! That’s terrible! That’s one of my favorite ingredients. I always try to include the ingredients because of allergies.

    • http://lolassecretbeautyblog.blogspot.com/ lola

I LOVE these, Phyrra! In fact, I love them so much that I bought all 20 of them!

      • Phyrra

Oh wow! You must really love them :)

    • http://www.jeannelippiatt.com Jeanne

I unfortunately experienced an allergic reaction to these :( There may be a silver lining however, if I could wear them, I’d probably end up buying all of them!

      • Phyrra

Oh no! It sucks to experience an allergic reaction.

    • macface2adore

I know this is an older post, but I am recently loving blogs as I was a video watcher only, but I am adoring several blogs right now. I love long wearing lipstick, but on my way out for a quick errand, in between lip exfoliation or a fresh look with a bold eye, less lip…these are perfect for a naked face and to enhance a large lip. Your review was great. I like this better than the L’oreal version:) I wish you well my fell short hair beauty lover:) Jennifer

         @macface2adore Thanks Jennifer!
