I did my top row of swatches on bare skin. I did my bottom row of swatches on Meow Cosmetics Light Primer. I always feel like eyeshadows look so sheer on bare skin! I also have amazingly oily eyelids and if I don’t use primer, my eyeshadow is gone in like 20 minutes.
I did some comparisons of colors in my collection.
Acidberry is probably my favorite of the bunch, though I really do love all four shades. It’s definitely more velvety in comparison to Absinthe, which is greener and more golden. I thought it was a bit similar to Inglot DS 477, but it is slightly duller/dusty in appearance.
While it’s a tie between 2 AM and Mochi, I was quite excited over Mochi. For my purposes, it’s very close to MAC Aquadisiac. Eyeshadow lovers of Aquadisiac can rejoice, as this is a cruelty-free version. I thought Inglot AMC Shine 24 or Inglot Matte 372 might be close, but I was wrong. I really love MAC Aquadisiac, but I am so happy to have the alternative with Sugarpil Mochi. Plus, it’s even vegan!
Here’s a closer look. Aquadisiac seems a touch deeper, but really for me, I’ll be happy with Mochi.
2 AM is pretty awesome and I can’t wait to try it with Poison Plum, I can’t wait to try it in my brows, and with many other colors! And no, it’s not close to Poison Plum, but I thought it would be nice to see them next to each other.
Here’s a closer look at 2 AM. It’s definitely lighter and more red-toned than Poison Plum.
Velocity is my least favorite in the palette but it’s still lovely and a color I will use. I still love it. Velocity is similar to Royal Sugar, but Velocity is more matte. Royal Sugar is WAY sparklier. I thought Inglot Matte 388 might be close, but it’s darker.
Here’s a better look. You can see that they are similar.
Some immediate combos that spring to mind:
Mochi on the lid and Velocity to contour
Mochi on the lid and 2 AM to contour
Acidberry on the lid and Velocity to contour
Acidberry on the lid and 2am to contour with Mochi along the lower lash line
Mochi on the lid with Afterparty in the crease and Velocity to deepen and line
My Heart Breaker Acidberry look using all 4 shades.
Mochi Cat Eye
What do you think of the new Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette? Do you like these shades? How would you wear them?
Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

Great swatches, and the comparison colors are very helpful!
Thanks Cin, I’m glad to hear it!
It’s such a gorgeous palette! I don’t really wear bright eyeshadow (sometimes a bright liner, but that’s about it), but I still want this palette!
The Blue would make a great liner on you!
I really like this palette and the colors are so vibrant with the primer! I love 2 AM and Mochi the best from the four. I love Acidberry as well, I just don’t think I can pull that color off well.
Very helpful review
Maybe try Acidberry as an accent?
Ordered it as I soon as I saw the launch, each set of swatches I see only makes me more jealous of those in the USA who get their shipments to much faster. STILL, very excited and know it’ll be worth the wait! x
I hope it gets there quickly for you Ruth!
Mine should be coming tomorrow! Nice swatches!
I hope you have it to play with soon, Shannon Thanks!
Love it. Acidberry is a little “dirtier” than I expected, but my real draw is Mochi. I am surprised it’s so close to Aquadisiac, but I would much rather give Sugarpill my money, so I’ll definitely be picking this up!
I’m glad it’s close to Aquadisiac, because I really like it but now I can wear Mochi instead Acidberry is so pretty. It’s my favorite sort of green. It really does make me think of velvet. I’m trying to figure out the best way to wear it tomorrow.
Yay! Thanks for the swatches! I did finally order this palette on Sunday I think. Was debating over it for a few days. I’m super excited for 2 AM and Mochi!
You’re welcome Peach!
*drools everywhere* I can’t wait to pick this up when I’m able to spend money again!
You will LOVE it!
…I need it. These palette are a nice value. I love mochi. I’d definitely wear it on the lid with Acidberry in the inner lid and inner corner.
The palettes are definitely a great value!

Thank you for this! It completely answered all questions I had about the colors.
Definitely one of my favorite swatch posts ever. More blogs should take note.

Awesome swatches and comparisons I am so tempted to get this.
I don’t think you’d regret it!
I’m in love with poison plum and acidberry. – & i actually cant believe how much better they are with a primer. Do you always use the Meow cosmetics primer? Because i used to use an Australis eye primer & i don’t think it really did much for me, & looking at these swatches it looks like eye primer is a necessity!
Sugarpill makes amazing colours, have you ever happened to have swatched any of their bright yellows? I’ve been weighing up buying one for ages!
& i love the eye makeup looks you did. The coloured brow is amazing (& hopefully something I’ll be brave enough to try
I’ve swatched just about every single color that they’ve made
I always wear eyeshadow primer.
I use Meow Light primer for swatching.
For my eyes I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
I’ve done 3 eyeshadow primer comparisons, which compare how vivid different primers can make shadows.
THANK YOU for the comparison to Poison Plum, I almost didn’t buy this palette because I thought they looked very similar. I did buy it anyway because I have problems with makeup purchasing and I can’t wait for it to get here!

Great swatch comparisons! I loved this palette the minute I saw it, but Mochi has to be the one I’m loving the most. Teals/turquoises/mints always pull at my heartstrings. Your Mochi cat eye look is amazing
