Wondering what you need to go back to school in style? I’ve got several gorgeous products for you! Most are budget friendly, too
Between Morgana Cryptoria lipsticks, Evil Shades Hardcore Glosses, and Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color Pencils, you’ve got some great lip color choices. Morgana lipsticks are especially pigmented and long wearing. Evil Shades glosses are moisturizing and pigmented. The UD lip pencils make lining and filling in your lips a snap.
If you’re on the go, the Milani Even-Touch powder foundation lives up to its name and evens out any imperfections in the skin without making you look cakey.
With Sugarpill Stella and Fyrinnae Dinosaur Plushie, you’ll shimmer and shine. I love shades with multi-colored shimmer like that! BftE Coffee Shop collection will let you look all polished, though you can pull off a really awesome brown smoky eye with Salted Caramel and Espresso. Too Faced Poison Orchid (fabulous purple) , Urban Decay Minx (bright blue-green) and Meow Summer Spirits (lime green) are three of my favorite hues that you can pair up with black, silver, gold or brown.
With Cult Nails Nevermore, you can be chic in a one-coat black, layer Hypnotize Me on top for a mesmerizing blue-green flakie effect, or layer a sheer metallic purple like Charming on top for a deeper, richer shade. You can go for a fun holographic polish like I Got Distracted, or a jelly like Living Water. So many choices!
What are your picks for back to school? What do you consider the most important piece for your look? Do you focus on eyes? Lips? Flawless skin?
1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14 purchased by me. 2, 15 sent for consideration. 13 purchased by me and sent for consideration. 3 and 12 not purchased by me or sent for consideration, but chosen after reading reviews.

Great post! I’ve been wanting to try Humble Dreamer but don’t wear nude lips very well. How sheer/shimmery is the formula?
NoorInNJ It’s very shimmery. On me it’s a very beige shade. You can use it to lighten other lip colors.
Those Nyx slide-on pencils are really amazing. I discovered them when they had a tester display at Ulta, and my mind was blown. Those things DO. NOT. BUDGE. It honestly makes me concerned what’s in them, haha, because it’s waterproof and smudge proof. I tend to rub my eyes a lot when at school– either I’ve not gotten enough sleep or I fidget if lectures are tedious or if I’m having test anxiety. And of course they’d be perfect for anyone who does sports/swimming/exercise at school too.I have a question that you might be able to answer! These pencils need sharpening, which is honestly the one con about them I’ve found so far. I have used the twist-up eyeliner pencils for the past at least 10 years, so I don’t have a good sharpener and I’ve never had luck with the kind you just get wherever for like a dollar or two. I even asked them at Ulta which one was really good, and the salesperson I had was just like, “Oh, lots of companies make them, they should be all good”. :P Do you have a recommendation? At this point, I would spend a lot more on a sharpener if it would work better than all the cheapo ones I’ve ever had.
Gabrielle_ I use the UD Grindhouse that I got when I purchased the 24/7 Pencil set. It’s perfect.
I used to wear some makeup when I was younger, now not so much. I used to wear the milani foundation compact ALL the time haha. I does not photograph well, and if you get a shade slightly lighter, it will look unflattering
oliviarg098 Oh good to know! I’d seen a lot of positive reviews about it, which is why I included it. I couldn’t find it in stores to pick up to review.
Back to school makeup is so exciting! I remember the first time my mother let me buy makeup, it was super fun.
SpiceDropBlog I just remember buying Revlon
I have a quick tip for those NYX blushes. I picked up the one that is the NARS orgasm dupe and it has so much fall out it was ridiculous. A very chalky texture. BUT I used a tightly packed kabuki brush and had no problems with fallout.
The Lacquered Lady I tend to use a small dense contour brush when I apply the Taupe color and it seems fine. I haven’t tried the NARS dupe. Great tip!

I am past back-to-school age :p, but enjoyed this post nonetheless! My 2 cents:1. Dinosaur Plushie – Looks fabulous and I love the name!2. BftE Coffee Shop collection – I went a little crazy on the BftE web site semi-recently. I have the whole neutral sampler, plus more samples that I hand-picked. They have some really great shadows. 3. These are phenomenal. Some of my favorite lip products ever. Amazing color payoff and they wear AMAZINGLY. No bleeding and just slight fading, but they still look good when they do. I have F-Bomb, Punchdrunk, Clash, and Naked.4. I have this because Ulta was out of UDPP once. I always thought I liked UDPP better, but you are changing my mind! TFSI seemed more pliable. 7. I have this because of your swatch!13. Cult Nails polishes are a DREAM. I have not used one I did not immediately love. WELL WORTH checking out! 14. One of my favorite pink blushes in a Nyx blush in Natural.
