I had a surprise in my weekend plan! I ended up scoring a treadmill off of Craig’s List this morning! Having equipment at home is what works best for me and the whole process went smoothly, so I am excited.Otherwise, I had dinner with a friend last night. After picking up the treadmill, today I’ve done bills and spent a lot of time writing overdue thank-you cards for my birthday a couple of weekends ago. Tomorrow I think my brother and I will visit our mom and go grocery shopping, and I think I will try to finish birthday shopping for a friend. And, of course, Breaking Bad
misfitgirlie Yay for the treadmill! I have an elliptical in my guest bedroom that isn’t getting enough use. I got it from Play It Again Sports BNIB. I have my recumbent foldup exercise bike that I scored from Craigslist that I use more often.I’m not into Breaking Bad, too depressing for me, but I’ve heard great things about it.Yay for time with family!
Phyrra I was considering Play It Again Sports if Craig’s List ultimately didn’t pan out. I had a treadmill I got super-cheap off of Craig’s List in my first apartment and it was great; I was in the best shape of my life, for sure. I had to get rid of it because I moved into a place that was smaller/on the third floor. I did join and gym and there was a little gym in the apartment complex, but I got distracted by family issues and that slowly tapered off. I gained quite a bit of weight and haven’t had time to address it due to the family issues (my mom, who is 60, got diagnosed with early senile dementia about 2 1/2 years ago and ultimately ended up in a care facility about a year ago…that’s what I mean when I say we visit her). I moved into her house with my brother to save $ for her. I really hate the house because it’s in bad shape and overwhelming, but I told myself I would get a treadmill because I’ve wanted one and now there is space. I haven’t had much luck on Craig’s List, but the stars aligned today! My brother got me into Breaking Bad. We’ve had it kind of rough overall (our father passed away when we were teenagers, as well), so we’re OK with depressing stuff, haha. It is a pretty damn intense show. For the most part, I like comedies and ridiculous reality crap to escape, but he’s gotten me into more serious stuff.Anyway, enough of my story! I’m excited to see your new glasses! I think you said your prescription is pretty strong, as well…I find that I end up picking my frames based on what I think will hide my thick-ass lenses best! I usually get the mid-grade lenses…not the super high index because they’re so outrageously expensive, but the high index. I spend a lot of cash on my glasses because I say I need to see and I need to like them every day!Did you get anything from the Whimsy sale??
misfitgirlie Not this time, but hopefully next time! Yes, my prescription is very strong. My left eye changed and went from -9.5 to -9. My right eye changed from -8.5 to -9 and my slight astigmatism went away again. So both eyes are at -9 again for contacts. With glasses they’re at -10 and -10.75.
