Sea Lore – A Review

As you all know, I’m mermaid obsessed. I love mermaids and their colors. So when I had the opportunity to try out Sea Lore nail polish, a new indie company, I jumped at the chance. I love Sea Lore’s tag line: Let your nails tell the tale. It’s so cute! The colors I have are from the Triton’s Daughters collection.

The Sea Lore Triton’s Daughters Collection is made up of the following shades:
Adella – A seahorse yellow jelly base with mint green hexes, gold glitter, and golden shimmer.
Alana – A sea anemone pink jelly polish with rose colored hexes and rose shimmer.
Andrina – Deep sea urchin purple jelly base with purple hex glitters and purple shimmer.
Aquata – Deep sea blue jelly base with blue shimmer and blue iridescent flakies.
Ariel – Bright turquoise jelly base with red squares, purples hexes, green glitter, and green shimmer.
Arista – Deep crimson jelly polish with red holo hexes and red shimmer.
Attina – A coral jelly polish with golden shimmer and golden iridescent flakies.

I was sent three of the polishes to review. Let me introduce you to these lovely colors!

Andrina – Deep sea urchin purple jelly base with purple hex glitters and purple shimmer.

Adella – A seahorse yellow jelly base with mint green hexes, gold glitter, and golden shimmer.

Aquata – Deep sea blue jelly base with blue shimmer and blue iridescent flakies.

Two coats of Adella on my nail wheel.

Adella on top of Illamasqua Stance, a creme.

It’s a really neat color!

Two swatches of Andrina on my nail wheel.

On top of Illamasqua Stance. This is an AWESOME combination in my eyes.

My poor little short nub!

A little note on the Andrina shade! I was wondering if the glitter was curled, but do not be alarmed! This is NOT Taco glitter! The way the light bends on these glitter pieces can make it appear that way, but they do not feel that way to the touch or upon closer inspection. I did contact Jamie at Sea Lore and spoke to her about the issue, we researched the differences between taco glitter & the illusion of it. The entire time, she was helpful, she was polite, and she never got upset that I had a concern about her product. She was entirely professional the entire time.

This is 3 coats of Aquata on my nail wheel.

This is 3 coats on my nail.

L to R: Sea Lore Adella on top of China Glaze Swanky Silk, Sea Lore Adella on top of China Glaze Want My Bawdy, Sea Lore Andrina on top of Illamasqua Stance.

I got 3.5 days of wear before I saw any chips. I use Cult Nails Get it on Base Coat and Out the Door Top Coat.

Aquata on top of Stance.

Price:
$10 for 15 ml bottles
$5.50 for 7.5 ml bottles.

I didn’t get pictures of it, but Aquata looks amazing on top of blue shades, like China Glaze Want My Bawdy.

Would I purchase?
Yes. I was thoroughly impressed! I’ve had some hits and misses with indie polish, and Sea Lore is definitely a hit. The glitter doesn’t settle, it’s complex and it’s lovely. While you could wear these shades on their own, they really come alive when layered. If you’re looking for new glittery polishes, you should check Sea Lore out. I know I’m lemming Attina! Also, these are so reasonably priced, especially when compared to other popular glittery shades.

What do you think of Sea Lore? Do you like glitter polishes? Do you enjoy layering?

Products sent for consideration. All opinions are my own.
