Today I had a ton of things to do with Dave, so I went for a quick statement look with Makeup Geek Immortal Gel Eyeliner.
For this look I tried the tape method for the cat eye, which I don’t think I’ve done before.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Urban Decay Walk of Shame – lid and crease
Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl (old) – browbone and inner corner of eye
Nyx Taupe blush – crease
Makeup Geek Gel Eyeliner in Immortal – upper lash line, outer lower lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion – lower waterline
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel
Addiction NV a little bit of foundation in Pat
Addiction NV rehab bronzer – contour
Nyx Taupe – blush
Urban Decay Moonshine – highlight
I might have added a tiny bit of MAC Fleur Power blush to the apples of my cheeks.
Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Milani
I’m a little unhappy with the Makeup Geek Gel eyeliners. Immortal smudged on me almost immediately, a tiny bit. It also smudged significantly after 8 hours of ewar (both above the eyes in the crease and under the eyes.
I’m still experimenting with them. The colors are wonderful. The pigmentation is great. They just don’t like my oily lids. Maybe they didn’t like my bent eyeliner brush, either.
The first time I wore Fame it smudged. Then I tried Poison, which didn’t budge. Then I tried Fame again. No smudging. Now I’ve tried Immortal and it smudged terribly.
I always use Too Faced Shadow Insurance all over the eye area and under the eyes. So I’m not sure why these are giving me such trouble.
As you can see, Immortal is a beautiful black and it does make for a great statement cat eye.
What did you wear today?
Some products purchased by me. Some products sent for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Mmm that’s unfortunate. I have oily lids too, looks like a pass for me.
thecakepie I’ve got a couple other ways to try it. i’m obviously missing something that it needs to be applied without smearing/transferring. The color is good and it’s hard to get off, so maybe it’s just taking longer than expected to set.
Tape method? I am an eyeliner incompetent. I do the smudgy look extremely well with a pencil, but anything gel or liquid looks like I applied it mid-seizure. :-/
OhPossum Here’s a good tutorial on it http://erinashleymakeup.com/tape-trick-for-perfect-winged-liner/
Oh no! I just ordered Immortal and I have super oily lids – I’m on a mission to find a gel or liquid that doesn’t budge, doesn’t dry too quickly and has the right consistency… I think it’s Mission Impossible! Anyway – your eyes looked awesome before the liner smudged!!
trumpette I have super oily and hooded lids. It could just be from my eye shape. And it’s not consistently been transferring, just some of the time.
Absolutely love the winged liner…simply gorge!
CrowsCupCell Thank you
I have fame and rave ( also purple one but have not used) from makeup geek and have had no problems, they don’t budge which is only think disliked was really hard to wash off. Have u tried those colors? I have oily lids too.
Spudder I have Fame, Immortal and Poison. Yeah they are hard to get off even with my good remover, which is why I can’t figure out why they smudge and transfer on me some of the time but not all of the time.
@Phyrra @Spudder Heard that poison stains? That’s so weird… I thought maybe bc fame and rave have like glitter so maybe that’s why having problems with the black but u have problems with fame too? Maybe a bad batch? My liners seemed on the drier side in the container also, did yours?
Spudder I haven’t had any of them stain. I wore Poison on top of black. I’ll be trying Poison on its own. Fame doesn’t really have glitter, it’s got some shimmer. I’ll send an email to MUG and see if it’s typical.
I’m surprised that it smudges/transfers even with primer! I was really excited for the gel liners (especially since they were in such bright colors) but this does sound a little offputting
stefanily I just sent them an email detailing when I’ve experienced smudging and when I haven’t, so hopefully I can nail down the problem.

Bummer that is smudged, but it did look dramatic before that! I am not familiar with the tape method…I’ll have to look it up!
