As I mentioned on Tuesday, I was trying to figure out my next haircut. Wednesday I went to get my hair cut at my favorite salon, Cameo Salon and Spa. I saw my usual stylist, Lori, who always gives me a great cut. I knew I was gravitating towards bobs and a jagged fringe, as opposed to suicide bangs. So after looking at the cuts I liked (you can see them on my pinterest board – this lovely one, this bob, this one, this one, and these fabulous short bangs), and looking at my hair, we came up with a cut.
She used a razor along my hairline in the back so rather than have be blunt it’s softer and she took off the shaggy bits. She smoothed it out since I told her that I’d still like to grow it longer. She went in with her scissors and sort of cut in a pie shape to create the bitten bangs (I made a joke that they were shark bites).
I’m wearing minimal makeup here. I’ve got on Morgana Cryptoria Raisin Shimmer lipstick, a touch of Illamasqua cream blush in Crush, Milani Total Lash Cover mascara, Anastasia Tinted brow gel in Espresso and Pixie Flawless Beauty Powder in Fair.
While the Pixie Powder in Fair color is a good enough match, it does absolutely NOTHING to even out my skintone, or the dark skin under my eyes. It looks awful! I feel like it’s worse than wearing nothing at all.
Lori’s shirt matches my hair
She’s got a cute asymmetrical cut going on right now. I always love seeing what she does to her hair. Of course, I think everyone at the salon loves to see what she does to mine. I feel like most people in there stop by to say hi and check out what sort of new, fun, edgy hair cut she’s giving me. I really appreciate the fact that I can take 5 or 6 images to her, tell her what I like about each of them, and then have her look at my hair and its texture and come up with a cut that works for me.
You can see from the pictures above that the Manic Panic Fuchsia Shock is STILL clinging to my hair. I need to darken the purple again and freshen up the blue. I don’t feel like the colors faded badly, just that it keeps turning pink! I last touched up the color about 5 weeks ago. I used Manic Panic Voodoo blue around my face and the underside of my hair. For the top of my hair, I made a mixture of Manic Panic Black & Blue, Purple Haze and Ultra Violet. I’ll probably use Black & Blue and Purple Haze, or maybe Black & Blue with Voodoo Blue.
