For me, the innovative wand is the best thing about this mascara. It’s like a metal lash comb with tiny tines, except they’re plastic. They’ve got some give, so if you poke yourself in the eye it’s not going to hurt you. I prefer metal lash combs to plastic ones because of the smaller tines, since they let you actually separate the lashes. This comb detangles my lashes and helps them to not be clumpy.

Application Tips from Pop Beauty

1. First time use: twist base 5 clicks, filling entire comb with mascara. Each additional use: twist base 4-5 clicks.
2. Curl lashes. Wiggle the comb from lash root to tip.
3. For outer & inner lashes, turn comb vertically; layer and “fan out” to add volume & length.
4. For center lashes, apply by pushing lashes up & holding for a few seconds to lock in curl.

My naked lashes are ok. You can see that they have a tendency to tangle at the outer corner.

Here they are with Cocoa Charm. You can see how Cocoa Charm is a flat, deep brown shade. It’s good if you feel black is too harsh on you.

You can really tell in this picture how the Inky Indigo just has a hint of blue. It’s not bright by any means.

Does it live up to its claims?
Yes yes yes! It lasts through crying, sweat, humidity, allergies, and just about everything you could imagine!

In addition to me feeling like the mascara looks great on me, it doesn’t flake off or get in my contacts. It doesn’t irritate my allergies.

I can even wear this mascara on my lower lashes without getting the dreaded raccoon eyes! I can’t tell you the last time that I’ve been able to wear a mascara without that issue.

I’ve had 16 plus hours of wear with this mascara. Like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going!

Would I purchase?
Yes! Brilliant Black and I are now BFFs. Seriously this mascara has achieved Holy Grail status for me in such a short period of time. I don’t find myself wanting to use any other mascara. Now if I could just get the perfect lash curler. I probably need to get a heated one again…

Pop Beauty Peak Performance Mascara is a great mascara to me and I highly recommend it. I think with the 3 shades available, there’s a shade for everyone, though I do wish that they had a Bronze shade!
