Nail It! Magazine

Recently I was chatting with my friend Cristina (Let Them Have Polish) and she was raving about the new Nail It! magazine. She said it was amazing, so I went out to Walgreens and picked it up to see for myself.

After reading the inaugural issue, I have to agree! It was awesome.

I just wanted to show you an excerpt from the magazine to show you WHY this is awesome. The magazine explains the trends and different ways you can wear them yourself. They make great suggestions across all price points. I haven’t been this impressed with a magazine since Nylon.

After reading this issue, I went ahead and signed up for a year through Amazon.com.

If you’re a fan of nail polish, I think you’ll love this new magazine as it’s really for the consumer.

I haven't checked it out yet. I don't tend to grab up nail specific magazines, but I might be persuaded to take a peek.

I think this sounds fun. I'm used to ads galore. If one issue is $6 then the sub price of $15 is a true bargain. I'm going to give it a shot. I've been wanting to see a review of it so thanks for that Phyrra.

I've actually heard mostly negative reviews on this so far. People said there were too many ads for the issue price and it seemed condescending to amateur nail enthusiasts. I haven't read it, so I can't say for myself, but this is the first positive review I've heard!

@cmalmat Really, there were as many ads as you'd find in any other magazine. It didn't seem excessive.

@Phyrra @cmalmat I will agree that there did seem like an excessive number of ads given the SIZE of the magazine (I haven't counted up the total ad pages vs content pages yet, though), but I loved it because I've never really seen nail product advertising like that before - and I saw a bunch of products I'd never heard of!
