Happy Memorial day! Today I’ve got a special post for you. This is a video tutorial on how to easily install the Samsung SSD 840 Pro SATA III. A SSD is a solid state drive, which means that it doesn’t spin. So while it’s basically a type of computer hard drive, it’s a very fast hard drive.
Why is a fast hard drive important? It makes it easier to blog, for one thing! If you’re doing video or photo editing, a drive like this allows your software to run more smoothly. If you’re gaming, it also has its advantages as it allows for smoother rendering and game play. They also use less power, increasing your battery life.
In this video, I show you step by step how to install it into my Lenovo Thinkpad W520. It’s so easy to install that I think if I can do it, anyone can do it on their own laptop! For more information about this Samsung SSD please visit Samsung. To learn more about the Samsung SSD 840 Pro SATA III I read a TON of reviews online. I wanted to hear the good and the bad about this particular piece of technology.
The best of the reviews that I read online about the Samsung SSD to back up my claims that it’s awesome:
Laptop Magazine Review Laptop Mag’s quote “The Samsung SSD 840 PRO Series is the fastest SSD we’ve tested and can add more than hour of battery life to your notebook, making it our top pick.”
Tweaktown Review Tweaktown’s quote “You want the best? Well, you’ll have to pay for it. The price is the only thing we can cry about. This is the fastest SSD on the market, and not just this capacity size.
AnandTech Review AnandTech’s quote “The performance and power characteristics of Samsung’s SSD 840 Pro are as close to perfect as we’ve seen from any drive this generation. In all but a handful of benchmarks, the 840 Pro is the fastest consumer SSD we’ve ever tested.”
CNET Review CNET’s quote “The Samsung 840 Pro offers fast performance and uses significantly less energy than other solid-state drives.”
PC Advisor Review PC Advisor’s quote, “Not only did the random data test match that of compressible data, it actually exceeded it.”
I can tell you now, that after using it for a few weeks, I’m still thoroughly impressed. My system starts up super fast now, and shuts down in the blink of an eye. Once I got everything adjusted on my laptop it’s been a breeze. Previously if I were starting up my laptop, I’d play on my Samsung Galaxy Note II android phone. Now I don’t need to do that because my laptop is so fast!
