shadowy magenta and vaguely hot pink matte.
Beautiful deep magenta with hints of hot pink matte.
By Starlight looks like a gorgeous blue-based purple on the website. However, in person, it’s much more red-toned. It actually reminded me of MAC Heroine. I’m disappointed it’s not more blue-toned, as I’ve got plenty of red-toned purple lipsticks but not the elusive blue-toned. If you compare the picture from the Melt Cosmetics website with the swatch on my hand, you’ll see the difference.
Blackened red matte.
Bright peachy orange matte.
I’ve only tested 6six6 so far. It’s very, very pigmented. I prepped my lips by exfoliating and moisturizing, then blotted it off. Then I used Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer for a base. I took my Wayne Goss lip brush and applied the lipstick with the lip brush. It’s not the easiest formula to work with, but it’s not the hardest. I really think a stiff lip brush makes it easier to work with this lipstick.
Anyway, this is just a sneak peek. I promise a full review soon.
