The brushes are basic makeup brushes. If you don’t have any makeup brushes, they’re good beginner brushes. The lid brush was a bit too stiff and scratchy for my taste. The blush brush shed like crazy. If I were creating this kit myself, I would not include brushes.
L to R – Creme – Coconut – Brow Duos Brun – Desire – Daydream
The makeup was nice to work with. The eyeshadows, even though they were mattes, were pigmented , applied easily, and were easy to work with. I got 7 hours of wear before I saw a bit of fading. I love the gel eyeliner! It sticks around without transferring on my hooded eyes. I really like the eye & lip primer as it works well to keep eyeshadow around all day. I found the blush to be very flattering.
I think that these kits are great to give as gifts to someone you know who is just getting into makeup as it will help them create a beautiful look every step of the way. The guide book really does break each step of the look down into easy to follow bite size chunks. The only step that I didn’t like the instructions was how to do a cat eye, but that’s because I do mine to compensate for my hooded eyes. Their instructions would probably work for another eye shape. The kits are also great if you like the colors and products offered, because they’re a good value for the price.
What do you think of the You Makeup Aura kit? Would you wear it?
