Silk Naturals HD Cream Foundation N10 and N20 Swatches

A while back I had the opportunity to try out the Silk Naturals HD Cream Foundation. I was sent shade N20 to review. I loved the texture but it was too dark so I purchased shade N10. Silk Naturals HD Cream Foundation is available in 17 shades (16 with pigment and 1 pure white).

Silk Naturals HD Cream Foundation N10 and N20 Swatches

As you can see, N10 melds into my skin, where N20 is noticeably darker.

Here’s N10 all over my face, set with Silk Naturals Cloud.

I didn’t retouch these pictures at all. Usually I remove my scar on my forehead if it’s visible and the dark spot by my chin.

My Thoughts
This is an easy to wear HD Cream foundation. It’s easy to apply, because you can apply it directly to your face with a tube and then go back over it with a brush. It does a good job of evening out skin imperfections. It allows for sheer to full coverage application. I applied it pretty sheerly and it looks like it melded perfectly with my skin. It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything at all. It didn’t get cakey on me.

Provided I use a bit of primer on my t-zone and setting powder all over (because it is a cream product), I can get 8 to 9 hours of wear without requiring a touch up.

I prefer to apply it using my Sigma F88 Flat Top Kabuki brush, but you can apply it with your finger tips, directly from the tube, or with a damp beauty blender. It works wonderfully as a concealer, too. When I’m wearing this I don’t need to reach for a separate concealer because I can just go back over any dark spots with this.

I think that this is a fanastic vegan indie cream foundation and it lives up to all of its claims. I highly recommend it.

  • Vegan
  • Gluten free
  • Great formula (melds with your skin, doesn’t get cakey)
  • Multi-purpose (great as concealer and foundation)
  • Travel friendly (the stick fits easily into your makeup bag without making a mess)
  • Great value for the price

  • I’m not sure if the color range is deep enough for some of my friends.

What do you think of the Silk Naturals HD Cream Foundation? Do you like cream foundations?

ooo this looks nice! I like cream foundations but they do tend to cake on me or look obvious in my large pores. I have to be careful about oiliness too. I would definitely try this, the lightest shade looks like it might work. Thanks for the review!

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

The lightest shade really impressed me :)

Very Interesing!!! I have wondered which makeup would be the easiest to apply and this one Silk Naturals does seem easy. Great Review and Thank you, Jerri

        You’re welcome!

I am actually really impressed with this. I gave up non-mineral powder foundations a while ago because they usually contain silicones which break me out badly! I really like the formula and it is very comfortable to wear. I am a medium olive and N30 was just about perfect on me. In order to warm it up a bit before applying, I tuck the tube in my bra while I do my eye makeup. Don’t laugh, it helps!

That’s so great to hear! And thanks for the tip :)

    • trumpette

I really love this foundation formula, like you say, it’s like a second skin, so lightweight! G30 is a perfect match for me. It’s so affordable and my skin doesn’t react to it!! The only con that I’ve found is that it does settle into my fine lines, but I’ve never not experienced that with a cream or liquid foundation (I’m still trying to find a face primer that doesn’t break me out) and it’s so lightweight, it’s not majorly obvious. I tried SN for the first time last year and I’ve been so impressed with everything!

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

Are you setting it with powder? Let me know if that helps with the fine lines.

        • trumpette

I’ve just ordered Translucent Cloud as the finishing powders I currently have are too drying – I have high hopes that it’ll work and that this will be my HG foundation!!! Thanks Phyrra <3

I prefer a creamier foundation with my rosacea as well! I will definitely have to try this.

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

I think you’ll like the shade range. They also have a pure white

    • Jing Lam

These are great but I am using Tinted Moisturizer with SPF15 to reflect my natural skin tone.

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

Sometimes I can get away with tinted moisturizer but not often because of my rosacea. Lucky girl!

    • erikatheicyone

I do like creme foundation and this one looks nice.

Cream foundations always feel so heavy on my skin. I used tinted moisturizers. Right now I’m using one from Olay.

      • Jing Lam

A tinted moisturizer with SPF15 is just right.

I’ve been curious about this brand for awhile after seeing your great reviews on their eyeshadows. Buying a foundation online is something that worries me, though – do they let your return it if you buy the wrong shade? How easy was it for you to pick the shade that matches you best?

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

This company offers samples, so you can buy a sample for 99 cents :)

Love the finish of these! Very pretty!

    • Alexis Ekaterina Graves

Thanks for your review! I really want to pick these up and see if they’ll be good enough to use on clients.
Question: I bought a Clarins product today thinking they were cruelty-free, only to come home and find out they sell in China now. Do you think I will be allowed to return it? Thank you!

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

It depends on where you bought it. Sephora has a great return policy, in my experience.

    • Betzy Carmona

That’s a great review ! It sounds like a great foundation

    • myCosmeticBag

Looks great – G40 looks like it’s right up my alley

    • Miranda

They have cool tones now too!
