Sweet Violet Tinted Lip Balm – $7 for .15 oz
For just a hint of color and a whole lot of conditioning. The Botanical Waxes in these softly tinted balms will take your lips to lovely in one pretty swipe.
cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, olus (vegetable oil, huile vegetale), cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera wax, cire de candelilla), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, aroma (flavor)*, lanolin, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, cananga odorata flower wax, jasminum officinale (jasmine) flower wax, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza). May contain: alumina, CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), CI 75470 (carmine), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides). *natural flavor
In the tube, Sweet Violet looks like a soft radiant orchid color. It’s a new shade. It smells sweet and delicious. When applied to my lips, the color tint is so subtle I can’t tell a difference. However, my lips feel silky soft. I think the coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter really do a great job moisturizing my lips. Ultimately this is too tame of a shade for me, as I found myself wishing it was more true to the color you see in the tube.
Peony Lip Shimmer – $5 for .09 oz
Want your lips to speak volumes? Give them a smooch of luminescent color with our luscious Lip Shimmers. Shea Butter and antioxidant-rich Fruit Oils moisturize, nourish and soften lips naturally and lovingly.
ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, beeswax, euphorbia cerifera wax, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, copernicia cerifera wax, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, fragaria ananassa (strawberry) seed oil, prunus armeniaca apricot) kernel oil, ribes nigrum black currant) seed oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, sambucus nigra (elderberry) seed oil, tocopherol, canola oil, glycine soja (soybean) oil. +/-: mica, iron oxides, carmine, alumina, titanium dioxide
In the tube Peony looks like a mid-tone shimmery mauve pink. It’s a much lighter, very frosty pink when worn. It’s not a shade I find flattering on me. I do love the minty smell and taste. Again, it’s very moisturizing on the lips and comfortable to wear.
Spring Splendor Lip Gloss – $9 for .2 fl. oz
Rich, pearlized color combines with natural oils rich in nutrients to leave your lips soft, shiny and 100% naturally beautiful.
ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, oleic/linoleic/linolenic polyglycerides, cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), aroma (flavor)*, silica, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, jojoba esters, ammonium glycyrrhizate, tocopherol, glycine soja (soybean) oil. +/- (May contain): CI 77163 (bismuth oxychloride), CI 77861 (tin oxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77019 (mica), CI 75470 (carmine), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), CI 77947 (zinc oxide). *natural flavor
I really like the light pink Spring Splendor shade! While I don’t like the smell, since it’s sort of strangely waxy to me, I do like the color and the way it feels on my lips. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to apply the gloss.
Pucker Lip Shine – $7.00 for .5 oz
Natural, sheer color enriched with moisturizing Apricot Wax glides on lips for a sweet and super shiny finish…so your lips shine as much as your personality.
ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, oleic/linoleic/linolenic polyglycerides, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, lanolin, silica, cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), acacia decurrens/jojoba/sunflower seed cera (wax, cire) polyglyceryl-3 esters, aroma (flavor)*, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, hydrogenated apricot kernel oil, hydrogenated apricot oil unsaponifiables, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil unsaponifiables, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, tocopherol, ammonium glycyrrhizate, glycine soja (soybean) oil, alumina., +/- (may contain): CI 75470 (carmine), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide). *natural flavor
Of the four products I was sent, I like Pucker the best. It’s the most pigmented. It has a sweet candy, maybe strawberry, type scent. I love the finish; it’s a pretty reddish shade with no shimmer. It’s very thick and moisturizing on my lips. I think it’s a great way to wear red if you’re afraid of the color because of it being on the sheer side.
One of the things that you can do with these products is layer them. You can take any shade in the Tinted Lip Balm and use it underneath either of the glosses. Because I like the finish of the Lip Shine better than the Lip Gloss, I would recommend layering with the Lip Shine. You can also use the Lip Shine to tone down the frostiness of the Lip Shimmers. No matter what you do, your lips will be soft and happy because of the added moisture with these products.
Overall, I think the Burt’s Bees lip products are perfect for those who like a subtle lip or are afraid of brights on the lip. The Pucker Lip Shine in particular is great if you’re wanting to try out a red.
What do you think of Burt’s Bees lip products? Have any favorites?

If you like the Lip Shimmers, you might want to try the Rhubarb shade instead of Peony. My skin tone is similar to yours (we wear the same shade in Meow Cosmetics and Urban Decay foundations), and I find it very flattering and natural-looking on myself – almost a “my lips but better” shade (though maybe a little pinker than most people would look for in a MLBB colour).
I’m going to have to check these out.
Can’t wait to try these
