Yesterday my new Hula Hoop and Hoopdance Workout DVD arrived. My personal trainer has emphasized that variety in exercise is important. I’m walking 20 to 40 minutes a day, depending on the day. I’m hitting the gym 3 times a week and doing interval training, as well as weights. So after watching three of my friends, including Cris, enjoy the hula hoop, I thought I might give it a try.
I picked up a Weighted Hula Hoop and the Hoopdance Workout from Amazon, as these two looked like a great way to get started with hula hooping. I haven’t done anything like this in forever. I figure this will be fun for me to do once or twice a week.

Oh. My. Gosh. This is awesome. I’ve never been able to keep a hula hoop up before so I can’t imagine doing a weighted one! But I’ll admit that it looks like a seriously fun way to work out.
I’ve seen LTHP’s videos on FB and IG and it looks like so much fun! It’s mesmerizing to watch that hoop spin around! I hope you enjoy it!
I love to hula hoop even though I can’t keep one up for long – do you get that outfit on the front of Hoopdance, too??!?! You’ve inspired me, I think I might buy one this weekend – a hula hoop, not the outfit, I don’t think I could quite work it!
I have a hoop and some hoop dvds from Hoopnotica. It’s taken me a while to waist-hoop, but I’m awesome at Halos!
I haven’t hula hooped since I was a kid but I can definitely see how it would be a good workout, especially on the core! What a great idea! Sounds like a fun workout! =)
