Makeup Geek Blushes Review and Swatches

Good Morning! Today I’m happy to show you the new Makeup Geek Blushes! I was very excited when I found out Marlena would be releasing blushes to round out her makeup line. I’ve been very impressed with her eyeshadows and brushes, and I thought I would love her blushes too.

Update: All Makeup Geek blushes are vegan except for the ones that contain carmine (Romance and First Love). The Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate and Stearoyl Stearate are all synthetic and not animal-based in these blushes.

Shades I Like Best

The packaging is pretty sleek and lightweight for the compacts. They’re smaller than most of my other blush compacts.

I think that the Makeup Geek Blushes are a great value for the price, since you can get the refills for $9.99 / $12.99 for .15 oz of product. Compare that to a MAC blush which is $21 for .21 oz.

The blushes are quite pigmented, so you will use less product to get your glow on. The formula is easy to work with and the colors are very true to pan. I love how the shimmery shades give you a sophisticated luminescence as opposed to a chunky glittery mess.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the blushes that Marlena created. Much like her eyeshadows and brushes, I feel these are great products that she put a lot of time and effort into getting just right. There’s a great shade range available so you’re sure to find 2 or 3 shades to suit your taste.

If you’re unsure of how to apply pigmented brushes, I highly recommend trying the Real Techniques Duo Fiber brushes.
