Phyrra Says Vol. 15

Phyrra Says Vol. 15

Good morning! It’s time for Phyrra Says Vol. 15. I talk about my experiences at the gym, painting projects, beauty haulin’ and more.

If you like this video and want to see more like it, please comment and subscribe!

Some of you emailed to ask how Phaedra is doing. She’s doing great. I took her for her DOCP shot yesterday (for her Addison’s Disease). We also had a blood panel drawn on her, which I will get those results later this week. She’s in good health, full of energy, and always ready to cuddle or play. I love my standard poodle!

Products Mentioned in the Video

Do you have any recommendations for how to deal with a cowlick at the bottom of my hair line – other than flat ironing or curling it? I’m trying so hard not to be addicted to my flat iron but that cowlick is driving me crazy!

What color should I paint my studio? Bright fuchsia pink? Crisp white with a blue undertone? Or pink all over except for 1 white focus wall?

Last thing! Have any of you ever fostered dogs or cats? What was your experience like with that? I’ve adopted many but never fostered.

What’s been going on with you? Let me know below!

I would love to try the OCC Loose Color Concentrate. I love loose pigments.

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

I was initially kind of ‘eh’ about the OCC but after playing with them I realized how finely milled they are and they’re very pretty.

        Thank you Aleya :)

    • Mahdi Martin

Kudos on your fitness journey! I still can’t believe I went from obesity to normal weight since I started working out, and quit sodas last September. Isn’t it awesome to feel stronger every day?! Now if only I could make my stretch marks go away. It’s kind of a shame to be stuck wearing half sleeve shirts and pantyhose or tights. I think I must have no elastin whatsoever, because I know women who’ve had several children and have less stretch marks than me.

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

I quit soda (as in I don’t buy it at the house and I don’t normally drink it when we go out unless there is no other option) almost 2 years ago. Instead I normally drink tea, Mio or water.

Good job on the fitness! Sounds like your journey has been very good too :)

Maybe check out shea butter? I know people rave about that for the skin.

        • Mahdi Martin

I have heard about shea butter for prevention, but I think it’s too late for that! I know it’s kind of shallow, but I’d love to have them lasered off some day. One more reason to hope my hubby’s endeavor is successful! We haven’t “left the light on” in years, if you know what I mean!

    • erikatheicyone

I’m glad that Phaedra is okay. :)

I have a monster cowlick at the front of my hairline and it is the bane of my existence! LOL I deal with it by parting my hair at that point and styling my hair in it’s natural wurls. I can also blow it out around a round brush or with a paddle brush with some styling stuff. Alterna Bamboo Straight Somethingorother is good. My flat iron works. If all else fails, I just yank it back in a ponytail and live in denial. LOL

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

When I blow dry my hair, I can fix it without too much hassle, but after I sleep on it (I only wash every 7 or so days, dry shampoo in between as needed after the gym), that cowlick comes back.

        • erikatheicyone

I shampoo more frequently than you do… Hmmm… Maybe you could just mist, hit that spot with a little brush and your blow dryer to tame the beast? LOL Cowlicks are such a pain in the ass.

I’m so obsessed with your hair!

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

        We should color yours :)

I am so happy that Phaedra is ok! AND YAY FOR FITNESS!

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

I take her every 6 weeks for her DOCP, so she’s a regular at the vet :) I’ll find out her blood results on Thursday.

    • marciaf

I’m in love with that ILNP shade. I like white for a room that you are photographing in. If it doesn’t affect your colors though then go bright.

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

I hadn’t even considered the room affecting my photography. Someone suggested do hot pink from the chair / table down and white from the chair / table up, so that might be a good option.

    • Kelly R

Way to go on your fitness journey.

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

        Thanks Kelly!

    • Eddie Funkhouser

Congrats on sticking to the fitness. I arc train too and really love it! Keep up the great work!

As for the calick try a good ole fashion “roller”. Roll the hair in reverse and the natural heat of your head should warm it just enough to straighten it out.

TIp on the Goldie Eye Shadow. Layer it over a darker shade to get a similar effect to what you see with the metallic blue you are wearing on the center of your lid in this video. Goldie was meant to have allot of effect and just a touch of sunshine color to it. I remember the other shades you tried of mine and they were meant to create the same kind of effect. I have to share my Hyperreal Pure Pigments with you. Those you will LOVE and give you more shimmer and color than you can handle! LOL One more thing you might like is my Chromographic Eye Gloss. You can use it as a color base to amp up saturation of your lighter colors or use it as a gloss on its own or over top of your eye color application. I think you will find them to be pretty exciting! Thanks for giving me another try! #XOXOEDDIE

      • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

The Arc trainer for intervals kicks my butt! It never fails that after I’m done all I want is a fan blowing directly on my face (I’m too short for the one built into the machine).

I’ll try Goldie layered on top of Bohemian because I think the two should pair together nicely.

I haven’t see the Hyperreal pure pigments but they sound great!

        You’re welcome :)

    • Cosmetic Sanctuary

Way to go on your fitness journey! And my vote is on bright fuchsia pink!

    • http://beautylitfromwithin.blogspot.com Nidia Doherty

I also picked up that ILNP color, but I ripped a nail to the quick removing the fake pressons, and haven’t tried it yet. I squeed a little when I saw Eddie Funkhouser is following me on Disqus. How cool he’s giving you tips on your hair and his makeup! Ok, I’ll reign in the fangirl now. Glad to see Phaedra is doing well, hope to meet her soon! Hugs!

    • Justina

Your skin looks radiant here! Also, love your background skull things :-)

    • FabZilla_Kath

As a dog mama myself, I’m happy that Phaedra is doing good. Bright pink or purple for the wall. But it’s your choice, do whatever makes you happy and inspired!

    • http://www.painted-ladies.com/ Sheila Arkee

Bright fuchsia pink is a great color!
