I wanted to share my Maskcara IIID foundation review with you. I sat on this review for a very long time because I kept trying to find a way to make this foundation work for me and finally I just gave up. I think this foundation is a great idea in concept but not in practice.

You’re supposed to apply the highlighting portion to the center of the face, then apply the contouring portion to the outer edges of the face and blend the two together.
I found this to be light to medium coverage. I felt like it looked awful on me in person but it looked nicer in video. This is definitely warm toned, and too dark for my complexion.
I’ve tried to apply this a ton of different ways, none of which worked for me. I’ve tried it with primer, without primer, with setting powder, without setting powder, with the It Cosmetics duo ended foundation brush, stippling with the Goss foundation brush, and none of it worked. (I go into more details in the video above.)
I truly believe I’m not using this foundation correctly, but I’m at a loss for how to try and use it at this point.
This foundation just did not work for me.
If you’ve tried this foundation and love it, how do you use it? Please share your tips below!
Hmm it just looks like the colors won’t look natural for everyday! They seem too different to really blend well together to a natural contour/gradient on your face
They didn’t look good on me, in my opinion. I felt like the dark shade was weirdly sheer, too.
It looks already strange in my opinion!!!
Yeah I just couldn’t make it work for me
I tried to make it work for me and couldn’t. I loved the idea and I give Cara a lot of credit for creating this but I don’t think it’s easy to use. Her blog shows people with bad skin looking luminous. I don’t have bad skin and I never looked luminous or felt good in it. It was an expensive lesson to learn.
I just wish I knew how she expected it to be used effectively.
didn’t work for me either
At least I’m in good company!
I’ve seen so many people rave about it and show gorgeous pictures of them wearing it but it just didn’t work for me. I love, love, love Cara so I really wanted it to work but there’s not one single product that works for every one and I guess this one just didn’t work out for me. Wish she did a makeup tour so she could apply it on me, maybe it’s just user error.
I feel bad too because sooo many people want the medium color and I have mine here just sitting around. I would love to pass it down to a fellow makeup lover in LA if I knew someone interested. I’d hate for it to go to waste.
Yeah I wanted it to work because I felt like she put a lot of thought and effort into the product.
There’s nothing wrong with how you’re using it. I tried ever which way to apply it and it just sat on top of my skin. I agree that it looks awesome in photos and video but it person it’s awful. When I reviewed it, I received several comments of people not being able to get it to work either.
I couldn’t get it to look good in photos on me either, but it did look nice on camera (video) for some reason.
