Aromaleigh Angels Swatches

Aromaleigh Angels Swatches

I received my Aromaleigh Angels colors on Saturday and I was able to spend last night swatching them for you. They’re really lovely colors. You can see all of the Aromaleigh Angels colors on the Aromaleigh site. I only swatched the ones that I purchased.
Edit:
And I just now realized that my labels for Phaedra and Phyrra are mixed up. Phaedra is purple, Phyrra is a highlighter shade.

You can see a bigger image here.

Ray and Dave and Phaedra watched me swatch these.
In addition to loving Phaedra, the guys also mentioned that they thought Calypso and Rhinestone Housewife were pretty. I love it when they weigh in on makeup.

Aromaleigh Exclusive – New Lipsticks!

Aromaleigh Exclusive – New Lipsticks!

The lovely Kristen from Aromaleigh sent me some new lipsticks that will be coming out soon! Kristen let me know that she wanted to dip her toe into the more dramatic lipstick colors, but keep them wearable and multi-purpose so that they will have a broader appeal. They’re meant for layering, toning and enhancing lip shades. After experimenting with these lipsticks, I wholeheartedly agree with them being wearable and multi-purpose.

The colors are called Violetta, Mina and Elissabetta. I really like the names. They smell like chocolate, like the rest of Aromaleigh’s lipsticks, and I really love that.
These are my observations and color descriptions for the colors, not the official ones.
Violetta – sheer dark reddish purple

Mina – sheer black with silver sparkles
Elisabetta – deep sheer dark blue with silver sparkles

Violetta is my favorite, and it is reminiscent of Urban Decay’s Apocalypse. It’s a sheer red-based purple color and looks good on its own or with another lipstick. It is good to warm up a color. I also think that of the three, this is the most universally flattering shade.
This is Violetta with Nyx’s Deep Purple liner and MAC’s Dazzleglass in Jingle Jangle.
Mina is a sheer black, which will remind many of Urban Decay’s Oil Slick. This lipstick is very sheer on its own, but will look good layered on top of other lippies to darken them.

Elisabetta is a gorgeous sheer blue. This is good for cooling off a color.

I’m really excited by these new lipstick offers from Aromaleigh! I think that these are a great way to get into more dramatic lip products.

These shades will be offered as a part of the Bete Noire Lipsticks.

I would love to hear if you’re interested in trying these when they come out. What do you think of them?

Aromaleigh Retro Hi-Fi Matte Collection Swatches & Video

Aromaleigh Retro Hi-Fi Matte Collection Swatches & Video

The Retro Hi-Fi Matte collection is a fun new addition to Aromaleigh. I just received my sample set from Aromaleigh today! So of course, I had to swatch them all and make a video, too.

While these colors may not look bright in the bag, they’re definitely vibrant mattes, reminiscent of the Rocks line with some of the pretty shades, once you get them on the skin. I swatched all of these with Aromaleigh’s Light Primer.

No flash, natural light.

No flash, indirect natural light.

Flash, indoors.

Standout shades for me from this collection are:
Kookie, Smokin’, In the Mix, What’s Shakin? Got Dibs, Big Tickle, Daddy-O, In Orbit, Spaz, Cat’s Pajamas and Real Gone.

Disclosure: The following sample set was provided to Fresco Phyrra by Aromaleigh for review purposes.

Of course, I did a swatch video, too. The video will be uploaded here shortly:

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! Here’s my look for the day :) I just HAD to wear Coral Crush. I do adore it, especially with Too Faced’s Sparkler Glamour Gloss on top! The blue sprinkles made me happy. I just sort of picked colors and threw them together after reaching into my Aromaleigh drawer and pulling out Planetearth, as I’d been dying to wear that again.

Descriptions:
Planetearth – subtly shimmering intense primary blue with pink sparkles.
Sylph – brilliant sparkling jewels in a white plush matte base.
Looking Glass – Soft, nearly matte sky shade, leaning towards turquoise rather than pure blue. Slight satin finish.
Cheshire Cat Grin – Bright, striking royal filled with blue sparkle. Can be made to look very metallic when applied wet.
Freshwater – bright summer blue (veluxepearl)
Vex – soft pale green duochrome with pink opalescent shimmer (frost)
Crystal Avalanche – white with reflects (veluxepearl)

Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Fyrinnae Looking Glass – on eyelid
Aromaleigh Planetearth – crease
Aromaleigh Sylph – on top of Looking Glass and Planetearth to blend the two together and make them shimmery
MAC Freshwater – outer vee blended into crease and lower lash line
Fyrinnae Cheshire Cat Grin – outer corner of eye
MAC Vex – inner corners of eye
MAC Crystal Avalanche – to highlight
Aromaleigh Black Out Gel – upper lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero – lower water line
Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara in Black

Cheeks:
Meow blush in Illuminate

Lips:
Too Faced Borderline Lipliner in Clear
Maybelline Lipstick in Coral Crush
Too Faced Sparkler Glamour Gloss in Sapphire Spark

I think my lips look gorgeous!

Face:
Aromaleigh Glissade in 1CL + Alabaster
Aromaleigh Ultra Resolution Finishing Powder in Peaches n’ Cream

I had some things come in the mail today, too.

I ended up bidding on one of the Aromaleigh Charity Auctions for the American Cancer Society. I won the color Frankincense.
It’s described as a deep plummy black smooth eyeliner with multidimensional prism.

I won an auction from Aromaleigh’s Menagerie for the travel size of Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliner in Yeyo, which is a metallic white. With it, I got a free full size Gothic Lolita eye shadow in Aqua Nightmare.

I also received 2 of my Hot in the City colors that I ordered, along with a care package from Kristen of Aromaleigh. She sent me the 4 new Gothic Lolita Lippies (which I was going to purchase anyways!) a Sugar lip palette, a Hard Candy key chain lip gloss charm, UD’s 24/7 eyeliner pencils in 2 of my favorite colors – Lucky and Zero, and a Hard Candy Jewel palette. This was incredibly sweet of her.

I also received some makeup finishing spray from Skindinavia to try out. I’ve heard good things about them from friends, so I’m looking forward to trying them out.

Now, on to swatches!

First up, eye shadows, as requested.
I was asked to compare Aqua Nightmare to Return to Tiffany’s.

Here are the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner swatches:

And here’s what you’ve been waiting for, the 4 new Gothic Lolita Lip Colors!

I also took pictures of me wearing Cakewalk.

I hope everyone had a great Friday. Once I finished with work, I was home briefly, and then we went to have dinner and see the new Harry Potter. No spoilers, but the movie left me feeling very out of sorts. I definitely enjoyed it. Oh, and I enjoyed seeing the new Twilight trailer, too.
