Natural Fuchsia Look

Natural Fuchsia Look

So today I gave the Stars Makeup Haven colors a try. I found them extremely easy to use and nicely pigmented, which surprised me, since they’re pressed eye shadows. In the past I’ve found that I get better color payoff with loose mineral makeup. However, the Stars Makeup Haven shadows I tried are really nicely pigmented. They also applied and blended very easily. I was anticipating some trouble since they’ve got an almost matte texture, but they were easy to work with. I think Creme d’Nude is my perfect my skin but better lid shade. Ciao Bella! worked surprisingly well for a crease color. I love Euphoria along the lower lash line, but I think any color would work well along the lower lash line. In fact, I’ll probably try this look again using an Aqua or Teal color, since Aqua/Teal/Turquoise is like the IT color for spring, and it’s one of my favorites.

I chose to use the Purple Rain lip liner instead of Hot Pink or Fuchsia because it enhances the blue reflect of the lipstick. Seriously if you love pink you NEED Azalea Blue. It’s so gorgeous.

I really love how this look turned out. I love the bold lips with the relatively neutral eye and the pop of color along the lower lash line. I think anyone can wear a bold color along the lower lash line. However, with pinks on me, I have to not bring the pink in all the way, or I look ill.

What do you think?

Saturday Swatches

Saturday Swatches

So today I received my Morgana Minerals vegan lipstick that I purchased, Azalea Blue. It’s gorgeous!

I decided to swatch it with my other bright pinks for some hot pink goodness!
I have:
Urban Decay Trainwreck – fuschia
Urban Decay Jilted – hot pink
Morgana Azalea – hot pink
Morgana Azalea Blue – hot pink with bright blue reflect
MAC Show Orchid – vivid hot pink with a fuschia purple sheen

Do you love the hot pink lippies? I know I do!

I also picked up some stuff when I was out at Target today.

I picked up Boots No. 7 Peach Silk, which is a cream blush.
I also picked up L’oreal Double Extend Blackest Black Mascara, and Milani liquid eyeliner in blue Infinite.

I know I have several great peach blush shades, but I think I need to find a bright iridescent orange/peach shade, something that’s comparable to MAC’s Full Fuschia (bright iridescent fuchsia)

The  peachy blushes I have are:
Aromaleigh Epitome – luschious coral/peach
Aromaleigh Glazed – medium-toned peach/pink with subtle sheen
Aromaleigh Rococo – a clear sweet nectar hued rouge
Fyrinnae Enchant – soft peach with a touch of pink shimmer
Hi-Fi Amore – bright coral with golden flecks
Meow Heliconia – peachy pink infused with coral iridescence
Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach – soft peach
Purely Coral – peach with pink undertones and shimmers
Hard Candy Honeymoon – light frosted peach

I’ve been looking at:
Makeup Forever Sculpting Blush #22 – Iridescent Orange Coral
MAC Style – coral peach with gold pearl
MAC Optimistic Orange – bright coral
MAC Ripe Peach Ombre – sold out

Any suggestions for a bright iridescent orange or orange/coral blush?
Do you think the MUFE #22 might work?
What’s your favorite bright orange or coral blush?

Lip Product Extravaganza

Lip Product Extravaganza

I got a lot of lip products in my mail today :)

First up, some colors that I purchased from Morgana Minerals arrived!

These are fantastic vegan lipsticks.
SubZero – a bright, neon blue
Valentine – rich, vibrant duochrome pink
The sample is a vibrant orange that I’m looking forward to trying.

I also received my order from Spell Cosmetics. I placed an order for two of their lippies. With my VIP discount of 25% off, and the current sale of 40% off, I only paid $7.63 for this order, which is an amazing deal.

Sweet Talker – a vivid jolt of candy
Enchanted – vibrant raspberry splendor

They sent me 3am and Creme de Menthe as freebies. I’ve added Creme de Menthe to my blog giveaway.

3am – purple-plum gloss
Creme de Menthe – creamy white with green reflect

Sorry that the swatches aren’t as vibrant as usual. It’s been pouring here. My lanai is flooded. There is no sunlight, so I’ve got to make due with artificial light.

Wearing Bright Lips

Wearing Bright Lips

So many people commented that they weren’t sure if they could wear bright lipstick colors, such as blue. I do believe that you can wear bright colors on your lips.

I think one of the best ways to do it is to do a simple wash of color and heavy liner.

A pinup girl style can work as well, again heavy eye liner.

Today I took a different tactic to wear bright blue lips. I applied a flesh colored eye shadow from lash line to eye brows. I then applied a shimmery blue in the crease, since I wanted to have it coordinate with my blue lips. I think it turned out quite nicely.

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
Simply Naturals Flesh – from lash line to eyebrows
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy – in crease only
Fyrinnae Glitterboi – in crease
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black – upper and lower lash line
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Yeyo – lower water line
Spell Goddess Glow – on browbone to highlight and inner corner of eye
Aromaleigh Phaedra – to define brows
Aromaleigh Lash Primer
Covergirl LashBlast Luxe in Black Platinum – 2 coats

Cheeks:
Aromaleigh blush in Candy-O
Spell Goddess Glow – to highlight
Spell Neutral Soft Focus – to contour

Face:
Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Sphynx

Lips:
Aromaleigh Minty Cocoa Chip lipbalm
Too Faced Borderline Lipliner in Clear
Morgana Lipstick in Sub Zero
Too Faced Sparkler Glamour Gloss in Sapphire Spark

And yes, please excuse the brows, they’re getting waxed tonight!

Step-by-step
1. Put Eden all over eye area and under eye.
2. Put Flesh all over eye area. I used the Medusa Fluff Shadow Brush.
3. Put Pixie Epoxy in crease. Wait 45 seconds.
4. Put Glitterboi in Crease. I used the Medusa Eye Contour brush.
5. Put Blackest Black around upper and lower lash line. I used the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush.
6. Brush Eyebrows. I used the brush with my Urban Decay Brunette Bombshell pencil.
7. Fill in brows with Phaedra. I used an angled eyeliner brush from Fyrinnae.
8. Curl Eyelashes. I used my Revlon Heated eyelash curler.
9. Put on Lash Primer.
10. Put on Mascara.
11. Put on Goddess Glow. I used the ecoTools highlighter brush and applied it right under my eyebrows and to the inner corners of my eye.
12. Put on another coat of mascara.

I honestly feel you could use any of the above methods with blue, orange, purple and green lips. Pretty much any color of lips, really. This lets the emphasis really be on the lips.
