Right before the holidays Overall Beauty sent me a few new shades of eye shadows to try. The shades make for lovely washes of color or combine together for a nice night time look.

This is a daytime look with the Gabrielle Faust collection by Overall Beauty. Since these are not normally colors I wear, I felt like I was stepping out of my comfort zone. I feel like the creamy yellow and brown worked really nicely together. There is a video tutorial at the bottom of this post.

Mineral Makeup 101 Basics Video Tutorial
This is just a little video tutorial on some Mineral Makeup 101 – How to apply mineral eye shadow with the dab/pat methods. There are many other methods, including foiling, using Pixie Epoxy (my personal favorite), or other mixing mediums as well as using bases like Paint Pots or Shade Sticks.
I showcase ecoTools brushes because I own about 40 of them, they’re easily accessible to most people, and I think they’re really good quality. You can buy several good sets from Amazon.com:

Bonus Look – Aftermath
I saw a beautiful look from Nars Fashion Week over at Aileen’s blog, the Shades of U. It inspired me to play around with a similar look. Unfortunately the pictures didn’t turn out very well. Regardless, I had fun doing this look. I like getting inspired!
The Aftermath of the Vampire’s Kiss
Today I did a look with the Gabrielle Faust Collection by Overall Beauty. You can see my swatches of the collection here. I think the look turned out very cool. I really love the texture of Vampire’s Kiss and Indiscretion. Sanctified Snow made for the perfect highlighter shade.

Recently I saw a BB Couture nail polish I had to have, Blue Bahama. It’s a blue shade with pink, blue and green shimmer. So I went over to Overall Beauty and purchased it. It was $9 for the polish, which is more than I normally pay for polish, but shipping was only $4.53, which was quite reasonable.
