My New Years Eve 2010/Day 2011 Look

This is what I wore for New Years. I stayed in at a friend’s house with friends and loved ones, rather than go out. It was a fantastic party. My liner was a little wonky, but whatever. Happy 2011 everyone :) We didn’t get home until after 4am, so I definitely had fun and am a bit tired.

Independent Spotlight – Shiro Cosmetics

This month’s Independent Spotlight is with the charming Caitlin of Shiro Cosmetics.

How long have you loved Makeup?
About 2 years, give or take? That’s about how long it’s been since my skin stopped being terrible. When it was bad, makeup was nothing more than a mask for me. Now that I have a clean canvas to work with, I can have fun with the entire process. :)

Ravenclaw – Veran & Midna

I did a perfect match of colors for my Ravenclaw look today with Shiro‘s Midna & Veran. Veran and Midna are from Shiro’s Legendary Collection (you can see my swatches here. Veran, Midna, Meowth and S.S. Anne are my favorite Shiro colors.

Veran – Super-dark blue-black loaded with aqua and purple sparks.
Midna – Dark charcoal with lots of bright aqua sparks.

As you can see in the picture below, they go together perfectly.

Din’s Fire

I kept meaning to wear Din’s Fire and Majora’s Mask from Shiro Cosmetics, because they’re both quite lovely colors, but didn’t get a chance to do so until today. I ended up adding a bit Pixie Epoxy onto Majora’s Mask and then more of MM because the color really is so pretty and I wanted all the gorgeous sparkles to really come out and be seen.

Veran’s Meowth

I felt the call of Veran this morning when I was trying to decide what to wear, so I paired it up with Meowth, another favorite of mine from Shiro. I think the look turned out beautiful and I even ended up complimented about it when I was getting waxed today, which was cool. Speaking of Shiro, go check out the lovely Grey’s swatches here. You can also see Ana’s swatches here.

Shiro Twilight Midna

Shiro Twilight Midna

I’m so happy with how this look turned out today. I knew I wanted to try Midna and Veran together (from Shiro’s new Legendary Collection.) I used Pixie Epoxy to really bring out the colors and I was really happy with how easy everything blended out. I really think this look is just so neat! The only thing I would do differently was use a light blue inner lid color.

The Legendary Collection by Shiro – Swatched

The Legendary Collection by Shiro – Swatched

I just got the new Shiro Cosmetics, the Legendary Collection in the mail and was able to swatch it. I had purchased 10 samples and Caitlin graciously threw in the rest of the collection.

My favorites are Rupee, Link, Kokiri Forest, Puzzle Cube, Temple of Time, Din’s Fire, Triforce, Majora’s Mask, Ocarina, Nayru’s Love, Zora, Moosh, Midna, Veran and Ganondorf. They’re all so lovely!

Midna is an amazing charcoal grey with blue sparks. LOVE THIS!
Veran is a gorgeou deep midnight blue with aqua sparks.
Ganondorf is a gorgeos black with red glow.
Majora’s Mask is a lovely purple that is my favorite purple from Shiro.
Din’s Fire is a pretty pink with pink sparkles.
Triforce is an amazing luxe gold.
Link is really pretty with its blue sparkles in the green.
Puzzle Cube is pretty and sparkly.

Anyway, on to the swatches!
