Recently I had a request for swatching Sugarpill Stella with Fyrinnae Fyre & Ice to see how close they were. I also swatched Fyrinnae Immortality. I feel like Immortality is much closer to Stella than Fyre & Ice.

Recently I had a request for swatching Sugarpill Stella with Fyrinnae Fyre & Ice to see how close they were. I also swatched Fyrinnae Immortality. I feel like Immortality is much closer to Stella than Fyre & Ice.

Recently I received the 7 new Sugarpill shades from Amy. I just finally was able to swatch them! I swatched them on bare skin, on Aromaleigh Light Primer and on Pixie Epoxy. I also did some color family swatches.

Now that I’ve had quite a bit of time to play with my products, I can give you my Sugarpill review.

As you know, Sugarpill’s site is gorgeous. (I want whatever lip product is on the lovely lady above.) They have two main products currently: Chromalust loose eye shadow and Addicted to Pretty pressed eye shadow. Sugarpill also sells some eye lashes and stickers. While Amy from Sugarpill sent me several colors to review, I also purchased several myself.
Chromalust Loose Eye Shadow
As you know, I tend to prefer loose eye shadows. Sugarpill does not let you down with gorgeous shadows. They’re quite multi-faceted.
Of the loose shadows I have:
Lumi – snow white with turquoise sheen and flashing bursts of blue and green
Goldilux – brilliant, highly-reflective metallic gold with breathtaking shine
Absinthe – a mischevious vivid lime green with yellow undertones
Decora – delicious hot pink with iridescent bursts of green
Hysteric – metallic purple with turquoise sparkles and luminious flashes of green
Magpie – dramatic silky black with metallic blue sheen and turquoise sparkles
Royal Sugar – striking bright blue with a heavenly burst of turquoise diamonds. The perfect hooker blue for a sweet girl like you.
Starling – vibrant metalllic turquoise with intense sheen
Tiara – brilliant, highly-reflective metallic silver with maximum shock value shine
(I don’t have Asylum or Junebug)
There are no samples available for the Sugarpill shadows. I believe all the loose shadows are vegan. They are $12 each for a full five grams of product. This is larger than the industry standard of a 5 gram jar. These shadows are not repackaged. They’re lovely and complex colors.
Addicted to Pretty Pressed Eye Shadows
While I do prefer loose eye shadows, the Sugarpill pressed shadows are nice. They either have a matte finish or a really nice low-lustre pearly sheen. They’re very plush.
Of the pressed shadows I have:
Poison Plum – dramatic purple with a semi-pearly sheen
After Party – bright turquoise with a semi-pearly sheen
Buttercupcake – the brightest bright matte yellow with awesome opaque coverage
Midori – vibrant green with a slight pearl sheen
Dollipop – vibrant, matte hot pink
Love+ – bright red with a semi-pearly sheen
(I don’t have Tako, Bulletproof or Flamepoint)
The pressed shadows are 4 grams net weight, .14 oz. Compare that to a MAC shadow, which is 1.5grams net weight, .05 oz. A MAC shadow is $14.50 for a single, while a Sugarpill shadow is $12. You get almost 3 times as much Sugarpill. To me, this makes the Sugarpill shadow a great deal.
The pearly finish is not something I have in my vast makeup collection, and I really like it for a different texture, especially in the crease. You can see just how amazing it looks with Midori in my crease and Absinthe on my lid.
The packaging for Sugarpill is extremely well thought out and beautiful. It was sketched out by Amy herself, and then she got the artist Liz Lorini to create it. You can read a fantastic interview about Amy at my friend Grey’s blog, LeGothique.
I swatched all of my Sugarpill shadows for you. I did the swatching on bare skin as well as on Pixie Epoxy. With the exception of Lumi, from left to right the swatches are on bare skin, pixie epoxy, pixie epoxy, bare skin.

I’ve also done several looks with the shadows. This is how I determined that the colors were highly pigmented, easily blendable, and had great staying power.

Midori, Absinthe & Buttercupcake

Dollipop & Tiara

Royal Sugar & Lumi

Starling, After Party & Magpie

Decora, Absinthe & Hysteric

Goldilux & Tiara
Amy from Sugarpill put a ton of time and energy into creating this line. All that hard work really shows in the complexity of the colors, the smooth texture, and how well the colors wear.
Would I purchase from Sugarpill again?
Yes
I feel like you get a lot of product for your money.
Would I recommend Sugarpill?
Yes! I do! I love the products that Amy came up with and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
*Royal Sugar, Tiara, Lumi, Love+ and Dollipop are the colors I purchased myself. The rest of the products were sent to me for review purposes.*
I received some Sugarpill that I purchased today! Yay!

I purchased:
Pressed shadow in Dollipop – vibrant, matte hot pink
Loose shadow in Tiara – brilliant, highly-reflective metallic silver with maximum shock value shine

and since I couldn’t help myself, I placed another order today.
I ordered:
Love+ – bright red with a semi-pearly sheen
Lumi – snow white with turquoise sheen and flashing bursts of blue and green
Royal Sugar – striking bright blue with a heavenly burst of turquoise diamonds. The perfect hooker blue for a sweet girl like you.
OMG the description for Royal Sugar cracks me up!
Yes, yes I love Sugarpill. Amy has done a fantastic job.
On Saturday I received a package that Amy from Sugarpill sent me, which was very sweet of her and a nice surprise! I love getting mail. (You can read my full Sugarpill review here, as this is just an introduction to me receiving the products.)

This is what she sent me to try out and review.

You can see all the effort she put into the icons and packaging and design.

I also swatched the shadows. Previously I’d tried her gold and silver shades that she sent me when I purchased some Kryolan from her on ebay.
The Gold color is now called Goldilux and the Silver, which has been reformulated, is called Tiara.
All colors were swatched on Aromaleigh Light Primer.

Absinthe – a mischevious vivid lime green with yellow undertones
Tiara – brilliant, highly-reflective metallic silver with maximum shock value shine
I really liked the texture and color payoff of these shadows. I know Amy kept tweaking them and tewaking them over and over again so she’d be happy with them, and I can really see why. They’re very nice.
I really love the low level pearly sheen from the non-matte pressed shadows. AfterParty has just this amazing glow to it. Poison Plum is really pretty, too. Buttercupcake is matte yellow, and it really applied with ease. I need to figure out what to wear with it!
The loose shadows are gorgeous! You also get a TON of product! The containers are HUUUUUUUUUUUGE! Absinthe is an amazingly pigmented gorgeous yellow-green. Love this one! I know my friend Ana from Lipsticks & Lightsabers will love it, too. Goldilox is still as amazing as when I tried it before the release. It’s a nice metallic gold. Decora is a very pretty hot pink and the iridescent green makes it a bit unusual. Starling is really breathtaking for me. I love how metallic it is. Magpie is delicious and dark and dramatic. Hysteric is a mid-tone metallic purple and the green in it is quite visible, just like with Decora.
I also have an order I placed with Sugarpill coming soon, too. I ordered Dollipop and Tiara. Dollipop is a bright matte hot pink and Tiara is a metallic silver, which has been reformulated from when I first tried it.
I hope you like the swatches ![]()
