Now that I’ve had quite a bit of time to play with my products, I can give you my Sugarpill review.

As you know, Sugarpill’s site is gorgeous. (I want whatever lip product is on the lovely lady above.) They have two main products currently: Chromalust loose eye shadow and Addicted to Pretty pressed eye shadow. Sugarpill also sells some eye lashes and stickers. While Amy from Sugarpill sent me several colors to review, I also purchased several myself.

Chromalust Loose Eye Shadow
As you know, I tend to prefer loose eye shadows. Sugarpill does not let you down with gorgeous shadows. They’re quite multi-faceted.
Of the loose shadows I have:
Lumi – snow white with turquoise sheen and flashing bursts of blue and green
Goldilux – brilliant, highly-reflective metallic gold with breathtaking shine
Absinthe – a mischevious vivid lime green with yellow undertones
Decora – delicious hot pink with iridescent bursts of green
Hysteric – metallic purple with turquoise sparkles and luminious flashes of green
Magpie – dramatic silky black with metallic blue sheen and turquoise sparkles
Royal Sugar – striking bright blue with a heavenly burst of turquoise diamonds. The perfect hooker blue for a sweet girl like you.
Starling – vibrant metalllic turquoise with intense sheen
Tiara – brilliant, highly-reflective metallic silver with maximum shock value shine
(I don’t have Asylum or Junebug)

There are no samples available for the Sugarpill shadows. I believe all the loose shadows are vegan. They are $12 each for a full five grams of product. This is larger than the industry standard of a 5 gram jar. These shadows are not repackaged. They’re lovely and complex colors.

Addicted to Pretty Pressed Eye Shadows
While I do prefer loose eye shadows, the Sugarpill pressed shadows are nice. They either have a matte finish or a really nice low-lustre pearly sheen. They’re very plush.
Of the pressed shadows I have:
Poison Plum – dramatic purple with a semi-pearly sheen
After Party – bright turquoise with a semi-pearly sheen
Buttercupcake – the brightest bright matte yellow with awesome opaque coverage
Midori – vibrant green with a slight pearl sheen
Dollipop – vibrant, matte hot pink
Love+ – bright red with a semi-pearly sheen
(I don’t have Tako, Bulletproof or Flamepoint)

The pressed shadows are 4 grams net weight, .14 oz. Compare that to a MAC shadow, which is 1.5grams net weight, .05 oz. A MAC shadow is $14.50 for a single, while a Sugarpill shadow is $12. You get almost 3 times as much Sugarpill. To me, this makes the Sugarpill shadow a great deal.

The pearly finish is not something I have in my vast makeup collection, and I really like it for a different texture, especially in the crease. You can see just how amazing it looks with Midori in my crease and Absinthe on my lid.

The packaging for Sugarpill is extremely well thought out and beautiful. It was sketched out by Amy herself, and then she got the artist Liz Lorini to create it. You can read a fantastic interview about Amy at my friend Grey’s blog, LeGothique.

I swatched all of my Sugarpill shadows for you. I did the swatching on bare skin as well as on Pixie Epoxy. With the exception of Lumi, from left to right the swatches are on bare skin, pixie epoxy, pixie epoxy, bare skin.

I’ve also done several looks with the shadows. This is how I determined that the colors were highly pigmented, easily blendable, and had great staying power.

Amy from Sugarpill put a ton of time and energy into creating this line. All that hard work really shows in the complexity of the colors, the smooth texture, and how well the colors wear.

Would I purchase from Sugarpill again?
Yes I feel like you get a lot of product for your money.

Would I recommend Sugarpill?
Yes! I do! I love the products that Amy came up with and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
