Premium Fragrances for Everyone! A Dossier Perfume Review

Premium Fragrances for Everyone! A Dossier Perfume Review

Hello, beautiful creatures! Today I’m bringing you premium fragrances for everyone, a Dossier perfume review. As you know, I’m a fragrance fan, and I typically love sexy gourmands or warm and spicy scents, and I’m not a fan of overly flowery scents. I’m thrilled to be sharing Dossier with you.

This post is sponsored by Dossier, but the love is genuine.

Why Choose Dossier

a photo of two Dossier perfumes

Why choose Dossier? Dossier is on a mission to make high-quality perfumes at a price everyone can afford. Fragrance is a luxury product; most companies mark it up from around 20% to 90%! The ingredients, the packaging, and the marketing usually determine the price, and the ingredients are the least expensive, while the marketing is typically the most.

I need to gush about the Dossier packaging. Just like what is inside the bottle, Dossier doesn’t sacrifice high quality to be affordable. Dossier uses 100% recyclable, gorgeous, heavy glass bottles that feel luxurious. Their packaging materials are 100% recycled and made in a recyclable box. Everything except their pump is plastic-free.

Finally, Dossier gives returned products to the charity Give Back Box instead of throwing them away. It’s a non-profit organization that dispenses Dossier perfumes to 60+ charities around the USA.

Dossier Perfume Bottles

As I mention, I love the Dossier perfume bottle packaging. It’s chic, minimalistic, and heavy because it is made from 100% recyclable glass that feels luxe. They’re gorgeous for gifting!

I absolutely love the fact that the scent notes are printed on the bottle too. This is helpful to me when I’m thinking about layering scents together. I love to layer with vanilla, caramel, and cherry notes!

Is Dossier Perfume Cruelty-free?

Dossier perfumes are cruelty-free and vegan, and none of their products are ever tested on animals. As a bonus, Nyx loves my Dossier Ambery Saffron scent! Every time I spritz it on, she rubs against me, trying to get it on her. Dogs love scents, and Nyx likes to have my smell on her. Nyx clearly gives a positive review to Dossier perfume!

Does Dossier Sell Candles?

Does Dossier Sell Candles?

Yes, Dossier sells candles! I have yet to have the pleasure of trying one. The Ambery Vanilla candle and Floral Marshmallow candle are on my wish list! Ambery Vanilla is inspired by YSL’s Black Opium Perfume, and Floral Marshmallow is inspired by By Kilian’s Love, Don’t Be Shy Perfume. Dossier recommends that you burn their candles for two to three hours for the initial burn, and they should burn around 70 hours each.

Dossier Woody Sage Perfume Review

Dossier Woody Sage Perfume Review

The first item I want to talk about is Dossier Woody Sage Perfume. Dossier Woody Sage is inspired by Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Woody Sage is described as a breath of fresh air atop a seaside cliff. The top scent notes are grapefruit and fig tree, and the middle are ambrette and marine notes. The grounding base notes are amberwood and clary sage.

I’ve cautiously been dipping my toes into unisex scents. My friends Nattie and Jenni love Jo Malone, so I decided Dossier Woody Sage, inspired by Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt, would be a great scent for me! I love how this smells on Dave and when sprayed into the air. In the air, it makes me think of a cold beach in Scotland in chilly weather. My body chemistry strengthens the grapefruit note, making it an unusually sharp scent for me to wear.

As I mentioned, my body chemistry amps up the grapefruit note. Four hours later, I’m still smelling a very crisp scent. After six hours, I can smell the marine accords, gradually fading into the softer woody sage.

Dossier Ambery Saffron Perfume Review

Dossier Ambery Saffron Perfume Review

My favorite scent by far is the Ambery Saffron Perfume. Dossier Ambery Saffron is inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540

Ambery Saffron is described as an intoxicating spice with depth that gives warmth and uniqueness to your body chemistry. Dave described it as a warm woodsy, toasted spicy marshmallow scent that bewitches him and makes him want to roll around in the smell.

Dossier Ambery Saffron, inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540, opens with top notes of saffron and orange blossom. I’ve rarely seen saffron used in perfumes! The middle notes have delicious plum, sensual jasmine, and cedar. The grounding base has rich amber, oakmoss, and fir basalm. With my body chemistry, it turns into a beguiling toasted spicy marshmallow that lasts around ten or more hours.

I am in love with Ambery Saffron, inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540! I adore that this scent combines some of my favorite elements with the toasted marshmallow and warm spicy woods. Finally, I’m incredibly grateful that it’s such a strong, long-lasting scent on me. I give the highest marks in this Dossier perfume review to Ambery Saffron.

How to Apply Dossier Perfume

Jo Malone Wood Sage Sea Salt Inspired Perfume Review

I prefer to apply my spray perfumes by spritzing the air before me and walking into it. If I want my scent to be more aromatic, I also spritz my wrist or inner elbow on each arm for a total of three sprays. A perfumer taught me never to rub my wrists together when applying perfume because it will dull the fragrance, make the top and middle notes wear off faster, and it can change how the scent smells.

How Should I Store my Dossier Perfume?

Cordelia is weaing the intoxicating Dossier Ambery Saffron perfume

I store all my perfumes, including my Dossier perfumes, in my cool, dark closet. I have a shelf that light never touches, which allows them to live their most extended, best lives. My olfactory expert friends have always told me it’s best to keep perfumes in the dark and out of drastic temperature changes. Other friends keep their fragrances in a nightstand drawer by the bed or a box underneath the bed. Keeping your fragrances out of direct light will help your Dossier perfumes and other scents last longer.

Why Can’t I Smell My Fragrance After a While?

Once you get used to a favorite perfume, such as Ambery Saffron, inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540, you experience nose fatigue. Others around you can still smell your scent, so don’t feel the need to bathe in it. Apply it as minimally or liberally as you usually would. Your nose has just become desensitized to the scent.

Are Dossier Perfumes Good?

Dossier Long Lasting Cruelty Free Vegan Perfume

Dossier perfumes are great! Dave’s signature scent is Louis Vuitton L’Immensité, and he loves when I wear Ambery Saffron, inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540. He says our two scents worn together are enticing for him.

Does Dossier Perfume Last?

Does Dossier perfume last? How long a fragrance lasts depends on your body chemistry, how it is made, and how you apply it. My Dossier Ambery Saffron, inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540, lasts from when I apply it around 10 pm until I get up around 8 am. I love to put perfume on in the evenings and wear it to bed because it makes me happy. I’ve definitely put Ambery Saffron to the test in my Dossier perfume review.

  1. I love how you describe these, and that you included Dave’s opinion on them! Too often, people think fragrances ‘aren’t for men’ but honestly Gof is better at figuring out scents than I am!

Off to go see if I can find a new favourite 😀

  2. I love Dossier! I have a handful of scents including woody sage, but my faves are floral rhubarb (MJ Perfect inspired) and fruity honey (Jo Malone nectarine honey inspired). I gotta try Ambery Saffron! That sounds great.
