Mermaid Tears

I played around with color today: blue, green and yellow. I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion. I used UD Walk of Shame on the browbone and blended downwards. I applied UD 24/7 Shadow pencil in Clash on the center of the lid and center of the crease. I softened the edges with a blending brush. Then I applied UD Haight to the center of the lid and the center of the crease and softened the edges. I applied Sugarpill Midori to the outer lid and crease, blending inwards and slightly upwards. I applied Inglot 474 (yellow) to the inner lid and then to the outer lower browbone/outer upper crease. I applied Inglot 59 (chartreuse) to the inner lower browbone/inner upper crease. I applied Walk of Shame to the lower lid and inner corners of the eye. I used MAC Fix + with UD Cobra along the lower lid and extended out as liner. I applied Sugarpill Lumi under the eyebrows, to the outer crease / liner area in sort of a triangle shape. I used Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure Nude at the inner corners of the eye. GloMinerals Peach Liner was used on the lower waterline. I used UD Cobra right at the upper lash line with a push brush. Last minute, I used a fluffy crease brush to add a bit of Cobra to the outer crease and swept it inward. I also gave the Too Faced Better than False Lashes a try with it.

Sailor Moon Collaboration – Sailor Mercury

I was asked to do a fun Sailor Moon Collaboration with several bloggers. I chose Ami Mizuno, also known as Sailor Mercury. She’s my favorite of the Sailor Senshi. She’s the soldier of water and intellect. Apparently, the Japanese name for the planet Mercury literally translates to planet of Water. Mercury’s colors are blue, with accents of white. She also has gold accents.

Since water is Mercury’s element, I chose shades of blue for my look, with just a few touches of iridescent white blue. To begin my look, I prepped the eye with NARS eyeshadow primer. I then used a fiber optic pointed crease brush to lightly apply Makeup Geek Peacock to my crease, brushing inward with strokes, very softly. I used a shader brush to apply Makeup Geek Poolside to the upper crease. Then I blended with the 224 brush. With a small shader brush spritzed with MAC Fix + I applied Fyrinnae Futuristic Glam Rock to the lid, leaving a gap at the center of my lid. With another small shader brush spritzed with MAC Fix + I applied Sugarpill Lumi to the center of my lid. I used a small smudger brush to apply Peacock to the lower lid near the lash line. With that same smudger brush, I applied Poolside to the lower lid, smudging where Poolside and Peacock meet. I used another small shader brush to apply Sugarpill Royal Sugar to the crease and then blended with the 224. With a highlighter brush I applied Inglot 28 to the browbone and inner corners of the eye. I used Mirabella Magic Marker to line the upper lash line. I lined the lower lash line with Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion. I lined the lower water line with UD 24/7 liner in Electric. I used Illamasqua Heroine to define my brows and finished with Milani Runway Mascara.

Grey and Orange

While grey and orange may sound like an unlikely combination, I really like it for Spring. Let me know what you think of it. This look was from one day last week. Last week was a bit crazy for me.

Valentine’s Day Look for Never Too Much Sparkle

I ended up doing a sort of classic Valentine’s Day look for Never Too Much Sparkle by using a lot of shades of pink and red. I think this is anything but boring. I need to point out that one of the shades that I used, Make Up for Ever 58 (raspberry matte) is intended for use as a blush only. So please do not use this shade as an eye shadow without knowing that.

Inglot Swatches – Some new shadows

I picked up some more Inglot eye shadows a while ago. I feel like buying Inglot is sort of a crap shoot. I love the pigmentation of the shadows, but the colors! It can be so hard to tell what the color is actually like. It doesn’t matter how many swatches I look at (and some don’t have swatches), I’m still never 100% sure I’ll like a color.
