Makeup Geek Purely Naked

I tried limiting my look today to for the current Makeup Geek look challenge, but I don’t think I did that well with it. Then again, this is often why I don’t enter.

For my look I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance as my base. I took UD 24/7 pencil in Bourbon and applied just a bit to the outer 1/3 of the crease as a base to deepen Purely Naked. Then I applied Purely Naked with a pencil brush in the crease, outer v and lower lash line. I went back over it with a softer angled crease brush, and then I took a blending brush over it. I applied Glamorous to the lid and then dusted Shimma Shimma on top of Glamorous on the lid. I used a highlighter brush to apply Shimma Shimma to the browbone and inner corners of the eye. I lined the outer upper lash line and lower lash line with UD bourbon and used Bronze mascara.

Nymphette – Bold Lips Challenge

I did this look for Nymphette’s April Challenge Calendar. Day 1 is Bold Lips. I decided to wear Quick Sizzle because matte fuchsia lips screamed bold to me.

For my eye shadow, I kept it pretty simple. I started with TFSI. I applied UD Walk of Shame to the entire lid area. I used a pencil brush and applied UD Mushroom to the outer v and outer lid, as well as the crease and the lower lash line. I used a blending brush to blend it from the outside to the inside with a sort of sweeping motion. I used a bit more Walk of Shame to the browbone and lid. I used a bit of Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure Nude at the inner corners of the eye. I used the Nyx Push Up Brow highlighter under my eyebrows. I lined with Mirabella’s Magic Marker Eyeliner.

Random MAC Neutrals – Cream, Beige, Brown, Grey

At one point I found myself lemming for the Naked 2 palette. Then I realized, in my massive makeup collection, I probably had more than enough naked neutral shades, so I really didn’t need to have a lemming for it. I ended up looking through all my neutrals and so many looked the same in the container, I decided to swatch them to see the variances.

Cult Nails – The Let’s Get Nekkid Collection

For probably the first time in my life, I was excited by a neutral collection… of nail polish! When I saw the sneak peeks of Cult Nails The Let’s Get Nekkid Collection, I just had to have it! So as soon as the pre-order went live, I purchased it. Thank goodness for Android phones! Yep, I did it from my cell phone. I’m excited by this collection for several reasons. One, I really don’t have many neutral nail polishes. Two, none of these shades are boring. They’ve all got gold to them, which I think adds elegance! Three, there’s a flakey in the mix. Ok, so Toxic Seaweed isn’t a neutral, per se, but it looks great with the rest.

Kiss My Sass Drama Queen

I knew I loved Kiss My Sass Drama Queen from the moment I saw it! When you wear it, it’s awesome on! It brightens the eye, yet it’s not overly glittery. It’s got nice shimmer and shine to it. It’s a neutral, so it will go with anything. While it works well as a highlight shade, I can get away with wearing it all over. I LOVE it with MAC Nebula. That color is such an obsession for me. It’s still available online at MAC, as part of the Daphne Guiness collection.
