My first big eyeshadow primer comparison was written in November 2009 (seems like such a long time ago!) and compared 7 primers. My second eyeshadow comparison in June 2010 compared a whopping 10!
This comparison pits my reigning champion, Holy Grail Too Faced Shadow Insurance, against two new contenders, NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and Nyx HD Eye Shadow Base.

Troubleshooting Tips for Viewing my Blog
I’ve said before that I felt like Nyx Black Label Lipstick in Hot Pink was a very close dupe for MAC Candy Yum-Yum. I wanted to show you the two colors side by side today with pictures taken from my new camera. To me, the colors are very close. The finish is different, as Candy Yum-Yum is matte and Hot Pink is more of a creamy, shiny finish. Hot Pink looks like it is a hair darker in certain lighting. But to me, they’re very, very close.
Yesterday I put together a look using mostly Nyx Pearls that I’d purchased in a recent Hautelook (affiliate link) sale and some Makeup Geek shadows. Mostly I just kind of played with color, without really planning things. I like the results.
Yesterday Judi, Dave and I went to the Central Florida Beauty Blogger’s Meetup at Cafe Tutu Tango in Orlando. It was organized by the lovely Brittany of Clumps of Mascara. It was awesome to see women of all shapes, size and color, all brought together by our mutual love of beauty. Everyone was so kind and supportive. The whole experience was very uplifting.
If you have never been to Cafe Tutu Tango, it is an awesome tapas restaurant filled with gorgeous art. Usually there is an artist working at an artist table while you’re there. Sometimes they have shows, like people dancing. The food was great! I highly recommend the alforno roasted pears. Our servers were fantastic and handled our party of 21 gracefully.
