I’ve said before that I felt like Nyx Black Label Lipstick in Hot Pink was a very close dupe for MAC Candy Yum-Yum. I wanted to show you the two colors side by side today with pictures taken from my new camera. To me, the colors are very close. The finish is different, as Candy Yum-Yum is matte and Hot Pink is more of a creamy, shiny finish. Hot Pink looks like it is a hair darker in certain lighting. But to me, they’re very, very close.
At one point I found myself lemming for the Naked 2 palette. Then I realized, in my massive makeup collection, I probably had more than enough naked neutral shades, so I really didn’t need to have a lemming for it. I ended up looking through all my neutrals and so many looked the same in the container, I decided to swatch them to see the variances.
When Nyx was on sale on Hautelook recently, I picked up a set of the matte lipsticks and their concealer kit. I love them. They’re gorgeous! So without further ado, here they are!
So I really love MAC Candy Yum Yum. I had a nagging feeling that I did have a similar color somewhere, though. I dug through my lipsticks and pulled out Nyx Black Label in Hot Pink. The two colors are very similar, with just a different finish. Candy Yum Yum is a matte finish. Hot Pink is more of a glossy finish.
I realized that while I like Nyx eye shadows, I’ve never reviewed them. Nyx shadows come in a variety of colors and textures, including matte, shimmer, glitter, metallic, matte with glitter and sheer. They have a variety of colors too, white, gold, brown, blue, yellow, green… all the colors of the rainbow!
