Arsenic and Old Lace

Arsenic and Old Lace

Arg, I’ve got huge dark circles under my eyes today! I couldn’t fall asleep for anything last night. I was up after 2:30 am and then I forgot to set my alarm. Thankfully I woke up at 8:20, so I wasn’t late taking Dave to work, or getting to work myself. I threw my makeup on super fast and didn’t put on any undereye concealer, and I really should have. Anyway I put together a look I liked, even if it was quickly. I used Concrete Ruse and Arsenic. Arsenic is a very interesting shade, as it’s a reddish brown with blue shimmer.

Reader Request – Bronze Look

Reader Request – Bronze Look

This look is from a Reader Request. One of my lovely readers asked for a look for a wedding that would go with a maroon dress, so this is the eye look I came up with. I absolutely love Half-Baked and really should use it more often. Every time I wear the color I feel like it looks elegant. A Little Drop of Poison from Spell

A Little Drop of Poison from Spell

Spell Cosmetics recently debut their new Poison Pots for Fall.

Shade Descriptions:
Arsenic – Raven black meets indigo duochrome.
Eternal Slumber – Molten Mulberry, with shiraz and rubied duochrome elements.
In Silence – Transcendental Pink, starts of sweet, but duochromes of blue & violet with soft metallic undertone
Poison Apple – A delicious red candied green apple!
Venom – Extreme Violet impact, metallic undertones that luster up to a high shine/sparkle finish

I’m definitely lemming them all! The ones I most want to try are Arsenic, Eternal Slumber and In Silence.

I am wondering if Poison Apple is close to the old gloss shade, Haley’s Bite.

If these are anything like the pot gloss, Sweet Talker, that I have, they’re highly pigmented and smooth.

Also, unrelated to the Poison Pots, Spell now has samples available here.
