Paint Pots, Fluidlines & Other Gels

So I have a thing for paint pots, even if I haven’t been using them much lately. I decided to swatch the majority of my paint pots, fluidlines, and other gel products for you to check out. I first started with MAC Paint Pots, picking up Bare Study and Blackground. I used to use Bare Study as a base for my eye shadow looks until I realized how much it muted the color, so I then moved on to eye shadow primer. One of the things I really love about paint pots is how well they hold onto shadows and keep them from creasing on me. Except for Delft. Delft is pretty but that color creases on me more than any other paint pot I’ve owned.

Stila Smudge Pots Review

Back in April 2010 I picked up two Stila Smudge pots on Hautelook: Cobalt Clutch and Purple Pumps. I liked them well enough that I’ve used them on and off. They can be used as an eyeliner or an eye shadow, though I prefer to use them as a base to pop colors or as a liner. Recently, I also purchased Pomegranate via ebay, and with a purchase from Stila’s deeply discounted warehouse sale (because of a huge delay in shipment) I received a smudge pot set of 4 for free.

Stila Artist’s Inspiration Palette

With the exception of the Stila Smudge Pots, I don’t believe I’ve ever owned any Stila eye shadows before. I don’t think I’d ever tried the famed shade, Kitten, before purchasing this palette. I saw this chic palette, the Artist’s Inspiration Palette, on Sephora’s site during their Friends and Family Sale. I figured for $15, it would be worth it to try it out. You may remember that I mentioned it in my Holiday Gift Guide Part 2.

I’m very excited that my HauteLook Beauty order arrived today. Stila was on sale there, and I used the opportunity to scoop up 2 Smudge Pots, in Purple Pumps & Cobalt Clutch.
